I’ve said it many times before so one more time won’t hurt. Steph Curry killed the game of basketball as we know it. Playing 5 out bombing 30 3’s a game is the new norm and it will result in less and less viewership long term. Barely any strategy, no set plays, no sense of teamwork. So basically, Alabama basketball.
I don't think he killed the game, better spacing allows for more variety. Smaller guys with good handles have a better shot of succeeding now. Also don't think guys like Luka and Jokic would be given a fair shake in the 90s.
I think the game sucks now because they never call walks and allow people to get away with things they even called on Iverson. Not because of the shooting proficiency.
I'm a huge fan of guys like Jason Williams (white chocolate), Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford, etc, even if none of them were considered "winning" players. I think the modern game allows for more of those type of players, but they need to enforce some rules. Those guys I mentioned are special because they did what they did within the rules.
All that being said, I prefer 90's / 00's ball to now. I'm just disagreeing that Curry killed it.
