Pate Says We Have a Chance

[PrestonyteParrot]

because we have a run defense while ignoring the glaring fact that we have zero pass defense

South Carolina at Florida

South Carolina started the season 2-0, but has since lost three consecutive games. Florida, on the other hand, is 4-1 after a 4-0 start followed by a blowout loss to Missouri last week. Dylan Stewart is expected to return for the Gamecocks, and that’ll be a big boost for that defense. If the unit can contain Florida’s run game built around Jadan Baugh, Pate believes South Carolina has a shot to pull off the upset in Week 6.
“I’m not ready to call for the upset, because South Carolina doesn’t beat SEC teams anymore,” Pate said. “They’ve lost 10 of their last 11. So I’m not ready to do that, but I am ready to point out some facts… Can Florida run the ball? Well in general, yeah, they can. Last week, no they couldn’t. They had 25 carries for 42 yards against Missouri… (South Carolina) is a top 30 run defense.”

Concern Level: 6/10

I must be missing something. It doesn't sound like he's giving us much of chance at all.

However, as stated in the OP, he completely ignored our zero pass defense!

Yeah, I'm not worried about the run game.

Our secondary will boost the Heisman chances of several unknown Florida bench players tomorrow.

we have virtually no chance tomorrow, between Sellers(who is continually featured on the front page on this website) and our terrible secondary. it's unfortunate but that's where we are right now.

Are we in a different conference now?

well, I was completely wrong with my comment on this game, I really did not see this coming at all. After attending the Kentucky game, I thought we were going to be in big trouble this week on the road in Gainesville. All credit to the staff and players, great job guys, go gamecocks.
