....allowed to officiate another CBB game.

Not only is he totally incompetent, he’s probably mentally ill. He’s by far the worst and most corrupt official in sports. (Yes, including Higgins)

You have to wonder what's going on. You have guys like Higgins, Adams, Doug Shows and Karl Hess that are so-called "officials". None of these people should be allowed to officiate any games. I thought it was bad back in the '70's and '80's with officials like Paul Galvan but it's gotten worse.

I said this weeks ago , that if I live to be one hundred years old, please don't make me have to see Pat Adams officiate another Kentucky basketball game !! He cant keep up even with the three man crews he is out of position seventy five percent of the time and anticipates calls way to often. I don't think he's in Higgins class, because I think he has vendettas against certain coaches , just like Seth Greenburg said. Pat Adams is just a really bad official !!!!!

Truest words you've ever spoken. So many incompetent refs these days and Gary Coleman is at the top of the list. I'm surprised he didnt spend 5 minutes at the monitor reviewing the handshake before the ejections.

Wrong. Higgins has been corrupt towards UK. Adams is corrupt and incompetent in every game he pretends to officiate.
All I know its really bad when you think of bad officials and Karl Hess is not the first one you think of, I believe Pat Adams has surpassed Blind Karl !!

Pat Adams is just in over his head. He doesn't have the judgment or self-control to referee at the D1 level.

Officials are independent contractors and they have little to no accountability. A conference can not renew their contract but it seems officials have all the power and intend to be the focal point. A good official is one that you don't notice much during a game and you don't know their name as a household name.

Exactly right about Adams. And Higgins isn’t an incompetent ref. He has a personal vendetta against UK and Cal which makes him the worst of the worst. He purposely made the wrong calls to affect the outcome of the UNC game in 2017 which makes him a low life POS.

Pat Adams is ridiculous. I don't know that he is corrupt (though he could be), but he is clearly terrible. He is very "letter of the law". You know any game he refs will have at least one call that is arguably technically correct according to the rulebook, but makes no logical sense. This call(s) will also likely prompt a five minute monitor review, at minimum.

I know it’s a tough job but overall the officiating does seem to be getting worse. Maybe it’s always been bad and we just notice it more since most games are televised? Either way the refs should be made available for interviews after eAch game instead of being wisked away like someone in the witness protection program.

A. Kentucky is by far the program I and other Rafteroos care most about.
B. How many NCAA championships have Adams personally stolen from a school? The MINIMUM number for Higgins involving Kentucky is three - 2011, 2015, 2017.

I don't think there is any coincidence that Higgins was the official in those 3 years. I am just shocked the NCAA didn't have him in our championship game in 2012. He seems to favor Kansas and would definitely have given them the edge needed to secure the win.

Oh, no doubt if he did that game, we could have lost that game. He would have found a reason to call a timely Technical on Cal, or some bogus fouls.

Officials can really kill the spirit of a sport sometimes and that is very sad. They think their job is to alter the course of every game they officiate. I seriously think most game would be better off without officials and everyone just called their own fouls.

for the most part officials do what they are instructed by the head of officials of the conference paying them for that game......... and the head of officials takes marching orders from that conferences heads.... Some times they are rogue but thats when you hear about them getting punished or fired from the ACC like Hess......

Sports are corrupt .. ......... its entertainment that's all about the money and will never change. In this situation someone wanted to teach Hurley ... or maybe both coaches a lesson. Just like the Pac 12 head of officiating scandal that wanted to teach Miller a lesson and it blew up in his face... im sure people with money got tired of new comer and HOT HEAD Hurley needed to be taught who's boss.

I need some context and to see the video. I can't believe he could justify a technical for shaking hands.

I believe I saw the video on ESPN website. It is really bizarre. The ejection was by a second ref who came running in after the first techs for a slightly heated but benign verbal exchange between coaches. Hurley and Haith were trying to end it with a handshake when they received the ejections.

Ok, I just watched the clip, and it looked like Haith was not going along with shaking hands. Both were Td up initially. Then, Hurley starts moving toward Haith with his arm extended and you can lip-read that he is offering to shake hands and end the beef. Haith had his hands in his pockets and didn't seem to be going along with it. The refs moved in as soon as Hurley started going towards Heath, I guess thinking he was trying to escalate things and T'd him up. Didn't see why Haith got another one too, unless he was still jawing at Hurley. Anyway, the video indicates it wasn't a kumbaya moment and that the refs were not tossing them for shaking hands.

Ehh apples & oranges. Higgins is more one-sided than any other ref against Kentucky. Adams is a completely different kind of idiot. He wants to be seen and feared. He wants to make sure he sticks out. He threw a frickin radio play-by-play guy out for crying out loud.

Don’t remember the Ref but who remembers him clearly missing the Ole Miss player being out of bounds on the floor with the ball against UK a few years back? Ref was standing right there and completely missed it.

With the NCAA's agenda, I was only not shocked, I expected it.

I remember Paul. Wasn't a big fan of his. And it seems like he called every other UK game.

I can deal with the ego problems except for Higgins. Most of the other bad refs would be fired if they had to meet adequate physical fitness requirements.

Higgins hasn't done a UK game since the UNCHEAT game, if you see him officiate another UK game it will be something like that , a NCAA regional final and it will be a bad night for coach cal and the cats

Its bad enough UK can't get a good call in our own DANG HOME COURT. I'm not even asking for them to favor us like they do Dook, UNC, and Kansas at home. But on top we've been screwed by refs so many times in March. The UConn flop comes to mind
