When you say every local shop is better that PJ’s that’s kinda like saying Mussel and Burger Bar is better than Wendy’s. Of course it is. And you pay for that difference in quality too.
Right.

That's why I listed multiple cheaper superior options before I reached "not to mention".

Please direct me to a better frozen pizza. That man’s pizza a top notch. Pepperoni and pineapple please
Unos for deep dish. (Do not skimp on the oven time)

CPK for a thin crust. (Do not skimp on the oven temp)

In the middle, you have Signature Select and if you're willing to go to Whole Foods, Home Run Inn.

And to be clear, if your oven sucks (or if you can't bake a frozen pizza), then that's not the pizza's fault. Most frozen pizza is garbage, but unlike 20 years ago, there are a few at the top which are legitimate if you prepare them correctly.

Ok. Say that gets done. Then what?

Asfar as the indoor facility goes. New playing surface. Maybe resurface the track if needed, paint job, maybe upgrade the lighting. What else can you do in that facility? It’s a multi-sport building, not football exclusive.

outside of that, we have a new state of the art practice facility, completely new practice fields, a completely renovated stadium, and a new top notch recruiting room, vastly increased recruiting budget and resources. I just have a hard time with people thinking the football program still isn’t getting enough attention from the administration.

excellent, build a football only indoor training facility. I think that is a great idea.

What is Mussel's and Burger Bar? Are they in Lexington? Never ate at either.

This was not his first game this year. I think he wears the same thing to every game.

If he would donate to UK like he did to UL, then I'm ok with it. Until he does, he is still a UL guy to me, I don't care what color he is wearing or where he sits.

For those crying that Papa John is absolutely a racist, have a look at the exact quote of what he said...
"Colonel Sanders called blacks n-----s,"

That wasn't PJ calling anyone that. He was saying that Sanders called them that and they still bought his product.
Was it a terrible comparison? Absolutely. Should he have said it? Of course not. Should he have apologized and asked for forgiveness? Definitely. But, PJ did not direct that word toward anyone. He was quoting a comment someone else had already made years earlier.

By comparison, we have a sitting Gov. in Virginia that was caught wearing blackface in photos back in college and somehow managed to keep his job. Yet, PJ is the Devil incarnate because he quoted Colonial Sanders.

I swore off PJ pizza from the day he flew Pitino back to Louisville on his private jet to take their job. It was a bad day. But due to his assistance in pushing the Jurich Crime Familly out.... I have reinstated his pizza back onto the "good" list. Better Basketball...Better Program UK

OK...but all I was saying is that I don't think his pizza is very good.
Yeah, but taste is relative to the individual. Kind of an in the eyes of the beholder type thing. For instance, using your aviator as an example, I love the show Ancient Aliens but I know a lot of people don't, but enough do to keep it going for ten seasons or so. Similarly, enough people have found Papa John pizza good enough to buy quite a few. In fact, I wouldn't mind a slice right now!

This. In the current world of cancel culture, safe spaces and faux outrage, it was easy for the board to twist that insensitive comment as racist and have him ousted. And if he had not been at odds with the board he would have made it.

Exactly. What a decade the "teens" have been. Hopefully the next decade will be better and everyone will not be running around with their feelings hurt.

Probably an unpopular take but..
I always thought it was pretty good for our area. Not a lot of good pizza in Kentucky. I don’t think it’s as good as I used to, but at one point, I loved it.

come to western KY for some una style pizza. Rick’s, Dave’s, Sam’s ... can’t beat it

but pizza is generally like sex, even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good

It’s a good, honest take, filled with facts. and I can respect that. The problem is that Schnatter could have made his point better by substituting “n-word” for what he actually said. He’s a mature white man and a business owner, so he should have known better than to say that word out loud. It’s a word intricately linked to slavery and racism, and the progress we have made towards equality in my lifetime (I’m 55) means that we have an empowered black community that is no longer afraid to criticize and apply considerable political pressure for his poor judgment.

Great post

Nope.

Name the best pizza place around Louisville or Lexington. And please don’t say Godfathers. Pizza around here is awful for the most part.
Mellow Mushroom

I used to like Joe Bolognas back in the 80's/early 90's. Don't think about it much more

Miguels in Slade KY for the win. LoL Little drive from Lexington but trust me....fantastic.

Seems like I’ve heard of this place before. I definitely need to check it out.

I’ve been to the one in Gatlinburg. Definitely didn’t come close to the Papa Johns out there. Hahahaha......:flush:[winking]

But nah, I’d give it a 7.2/10. Keep in mind, I watch every barstool sports pizza review. Thought their crust was pretty good. Speaking of mellow mushroom, I just did some work on the one that closed down on bardstown rd in Louisville.

My daughter lives near Akron. You can’t throw a rock and not hit a great pizza place there. I wish Lexington and Louisville had more mom and pop options like that.

ouch

I love it. I don't go the one very often around here. We have Dewey's pizza and a new place opened up called Two Cities that is very popular. But as far as chains go, I'll take Mellow Mushroom over the bigger name one's any day.

When I go to Costco to buy alcohol in Florence, I hit Bourbon House for their Chicago sty,le
