Ah, right right right. Paige was the face of women's COLLEGE basketball, then got hurt, thus opening the door for a NEW face of women's COLLEGE basketball, a door through which Caitlin Clark emerged and ruled as the face of women's COLLEGE basketball until she graduated, then Paige got healthy and returned as the face of women's COLLEGE basketball at the storied program of UCONN surrounded by other 5* talent, and even though Caitlin Clark only became the face of women's COLLEGE basketball because of Paige's injury she still somehow gained international superstardom as a rookie in the WNBA at a level that Paige hasn't even gotten close to even with Caitlin missing most of this season... but it never would've happened for Caitlin if Paige hadn't gotten hurt.
Lol.
Do you realize how dumb you sound?
It's not that complicated. Caitlin Clark brings a style of play that mesmerizes people. She shoots and makes logo 3s at a rate that 99% of NBA players can't match. She is the floor general as a PG. She plays fast. She makes highlight reel passes regularly. She makes every one of her teammates better. She is constantly engaging the crowd and amping them up. These are the reasons she's the most popular women's basketball player on the planet, and would've been whether Paige Bueckers got injured in college or not.
Sorry, Paige is an amazing player but a quick first step off the dribble and mid-range jumpers just aren't going to galvanize fans the way CC does. It's the same with Angel Reese and why she'll never be nearly as popular. People just aren't going to get nearly as jazzed watching someone rebound. This is probably why neither of them can draw even 10,000 fans to their games, much less sell out arenas.
