I think my sentiments were expressed pretty clearly. CC's popularity would not have taken off to the degree it did, had PB been healthy.

What PB would have done in CC's position is not relevant to my claim.

And I've never watched a basketball game for the sake of watching one player. So to me, neither have been, nor ever will be "must watch".

And if you want to compare players, they are both great. And fit/need with teammates is a big component. But for the pro game, in most scenarios, and if forced to pick, I'd take my chances with PB
Your basketball takes are worse than your football ones.

Well AI says she was a top player in the W last year analytically behind Collier, Aja, Stewart and Thomas. And I’d agree with that. And that was in her 1st season. And also all those other players were surrounded by much more experienced teams as well. So I’d say if she’s a top 5 player she’s not far from being the best in a few years barring injuries.
That's fine.

That's a lot different than being the best at this moment (hypothetically assuming health)

Clark is very fortunate Paige got hurt when she did (in college).

Before Paige's injury, she was the face of women's college basketball. CC mania would have never taken off the way it did if Paige had been healthy the whole time.

I don't care how good CC is. A girl from Iowa launching from the logo just doesn't become bigger than UCONN being UCONN, on the shoulders of the face of the game.

CC benefited a lot of zeros from that timing
So because Paige got hurt, people stopped liking her and being interested in her? Even after she came back?

She's one of the best in the world, and easily the most popular player in the world.
Again, one of the best is not the same as the best.

It sounded an awful lot like Anon was referring to CC as the best. Thus my attempt at clarification

So why didn't she regain her status as the face of women's basketball?

Couldn't I say the same thing about Paige being lucky to enter the WNBA in a season when CC has missed a majority of her games?

Dallas is averaging barely 7,500 for their home games with a healthy Paige Bueckers. Why's that? Why hasn't Paige reclaimed her throne as the face of women's basketball?

She's the best PG in the world. I'd say being the best player in the world at your position is close to being the best in the world. You said it "wasn't close" to being accurate.

Ah, right right right. Paige was the face of women's COLLEGE basketball, then got hurt, thus opening the door for a NEW face of women's COLLEGE basketball, a door through which Caitlin Clark emerged and ruled as the face of women's COLLEGE basketball until she graduated, then Paige got healthy and returned as the face of women's COLLEGE basketball at the storied program of UCONN surrounded by other 5* talent, and even though Caitlin Clark only became the face of women's COLLEGE basketball because of Paige's injury she still somehow gained international superstardom as a rookie in the WNBA at a level that Paige hasn't even gotten close to even with Caitlin missing most of this season... but it never would've happened for Caitlin if Paige hadn't gotten hurt.

Lol.

Do you realize how dumb you sound?

It's not that complicated. Caitlin Clark brings a style of play that mesmerizes people. She shoots and makes logo 3s at a rate that 99% of NBA players can't match. She is the floor general as a PG. She plays fast. She makes highlight reel passes regularly. She makes every one of her teammates better. She is constantly engaging the crowd and amping them up. These are the reasons she's the most popular women's basketball player on the planet, and would've been whether Paige Bueckers got injured in college or not.

Sorry, Paige is an amazing player but a quick first step off the dribble and mid-range jumpers just aren't going to galvanize fans the way CC does. It's the same with Angel Reese and why she'll never be nearly as popular. People just aren't going to get nearly as jazzed watching someone rebound. This is probably why neither of them can draw even 10,000 fans to their games, much less sell out arenas.

I merely made the observation that CC's brand benefited from PB's injury.

I'm happy things worked out for her in that way.

But that claim seems pretty irrefutable. Just like Reese's and JuJu's brands benefitted from PB's injury

It's pretty impressive that Bueckers scored 44 points while only attempting four threes. Her mid-range game is very good.
It’s elite. I hope Clark continues to improve her midrange shooting because she is nowhere near Bueckers there.

PB is the complete package - scoring, assists, and plays good defense. She had a game for the ages tonight.

Incorrect.

Incorrecter.
Interested in your list of NBA players who average a distance of 28 feet on their made three-pointers, and who regularly make them from over 30 and up to 36 feet.

The Dallas Wings average home attendance in 2025 is a little under 7,500. The Chicago Sky average home attendance in 2025 is 9,560.

An elite scorer and shooter for sure. But she only had 3 assists, and 4 rebounds. Impressive scoring performance for sure, but I'd hardly call it a "game for the ages" when it wasn't even close to being a double-double, much less triple-double. And her team lost.

1) Keep moving them goalposts.

2) Thank you for correcting your erroneous statement.

Maybe they should actually f***ing guard her then, instead of not caring how much she scores because of "how bad their team is"..........

The didn't guard her? Huh. So they had 5 defenders on the other 4 players?
She scored 44 pts, so obviously they didn't guard her...........duh.

Also, CC > Paige because I know it's important to you (and your second account, eyes) to impress upon us that Paige should be seen as on equal footing.

Deal with it. :)

P.S. still waiting for this on Paige......

I'm starting to believe some of these guys have kids who played club basketball and got thoroughly embarrassed by CC at some point so they're now just holding a grudge. Lol.

I'm not a Bueckers apologist, and although I agree with you that the amount of open looks she received were generous. However, in fairness I would say that she indeed knocked down those shots with success. I can't tell you how many times I've seen acclaimed shooters miss a good deal of open looks as well.
