Johnny Paycheck, Charlie Daniels, David Allan Coe, Jerry Reed, Hank Sr, Hank Jr , Tritt, Bobby Bare, Tanya Tucker, Toby Keith, Tompall Glaser Kristofferson, Willie, Merle, Cash, Possum, and Waylon.

The only questionable 2 to me are Bobby Bare and Jerry Reed. Looks just like Jerry Reed, but I feel like Jerry Jeff Walker belongs more.

Like I said there are several that kinda make the Outlaw distinction... maybe. Jimmie Rodgers broke the mold. Dwight brought back the Bakerfield sound. Travis Tritt and Marty Stuart started the "No Hats" club.

Loretta Lynn tried to piss everyone off talking about real subjects from a woman's POV.

Charlie Pride was definitely not your ordinary country singer.

What I'm trying to say is there are a bunch of people who rebelled/broke the rules along the way. So if you really wanted a Outlaws list there would really only be a bunch of them and we could argue all day about who makes the list, but there are only a few that everyone agrees on.

No matter how much you think you know about country music if you watch Ken Burns' documentary on country music you'll know a lot more. We both like country music but are not huge fans. For whatever reason my wife decided to record the whole series and we've watched a good part of it. Really well done, informative and entertaining. I'd recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in country music.

I don't know, but it's a Bloody Mary Morning for Willie. White Lightening for The Possum and he pulled the head off of Elvis. Toby has his solo cup.

This thread made me feel a little bit better about the future of Country Music. There's still great country music being written and recorded, you just have to dig for it.

What happened to Country Music in the past two decades has been nothing short of tragic. It directly coincided with the downfall of American society, and the pussification of America. Yes, I feel that strongly about it.
