Yea man, I can't believe AM2 wasn't in the Ds face after they couldn't come close to stopping the OSU offense.

We got our brakes beat off because the supposed leader of this team handed the opposition the ball on a platter 3 times.

Tldr this stupid post

Frost didn't go after Burrow because Martinez was better in his opinion. Burrow would have made this a hell lot more respectable. Plus practice sometimes doesn't lead to the field. Adrian sucks out there and Osborne would have had him on the bench by now to let him think if he wants to be a leader or a follower.

You don't have a fraction of the knowledge about this team or college football in general compared to Frost. His play has been just fine until he ran into a buzz saw of a team tonight, OSU is going to make a lot of teams look terrible. Martinez has had plenty of good games and will have many more in the future. Grow up.

Frost doesn't want to bench Martinez because he remembers what it's liked to be criticized and booed as a Nebraska QB. He remembers everyone calling for the backup to replace him. He's going to ride with Martinez for the next 3 years, no matter how bad he performs.

I dont care what you think.

We were gonna lose this game but we weren't suppose to lose cause our QB is weak.

We need a change.

We need leadership at that position
..we don't have it.
IMO, all the pre-season hype jinxed Adrian. He's been trying way too hard to live up to that hype and now he has to crawl out of the hole.

This team has not played just fine we **** the bed against a bad CU team and we played USA and Illinois to the wire to get a W. We havent been a good team all year. OSU went as expected. If we dont beat N'western next week we arent going bowling.

Martinez had a terrible game. But, he is the least of our worries. I’d start with our band of misfits offensive line, our G5 D coordinator, a special teams that is truly special in a bad way, and a WR/O Coordinator that appears can’t develop a wide receiver.

I know the O-line sucks and all but he can it throw the ball with any touch or finesse. Reminds me of the ducks that Lord and all the other non-throwing husker QB’s threw up there years back. No threat at all with his arm. Can any of the other QB’s throw a better ball? Vedral? It sure might loosen things up for the rest of the Offense? If not - keep him in there but all the hype about AM being the second coming of a Heisman QB was way the F off bros!
You can't seriously believe Fields would have done any better behind our high school line. Please get in touch with reality. Name 5 quarterbacks with high level of success behind a below average line.

No our O line is killing us. We had 3 O linemen who couldn't hold their own against OSU's talent. Not even close. Bad snaps. Guys getting pushed back in to the QB. WRs couldn't get open. OSU is really good. We're not.

2AM is 6'2". With his arms to that's 7 feet, and he was having to jump up about a foot to get the ball. So the snaps were going about 8 feet in the air instead of 4 feet at 2AMs waist. 8 feet instead of 4 feet ? That's only a 100% off.

No it's way more simple than that. OUR O LINE SUCKS. EVERYONE has forgotten who our O line coach was just 2 years ago. We failed at recruiting enough top level O line talent 3-4 years ago and now we're paying the price. Our problem isn't our QB. Our problem starts and ends on offense with our O line struggles. Juergens will get better but man this is going to take some time to fix what Cavanaugh and Riley left us.

Excuses excuses
That is what we do as Nebraska now. Create excuses for why we can't be good. If we have a good offense and lose it is because we need a better D. IF we have a good D and lose it is because we need a good O. If we have good recruits and lose it is because we don't have a good coach. If we have a good qb and lose it is because we don't have good Wrs. If we have good Rbs and lose it is because our O line is bad. If we get blow out it is because they were a very good team. If we keep it close and lose well at least we gave it a good effort. There is always something. Bottom line good programs and good coaches find ways to get it done and to win, no matter the situation, no matter the negatives. They take what they have and make it work.
Now I admit year 2 under Frost is nowhere near the point of jumping ship on Frost. However I feel we should be making a bit more progress than we we saw last night. We have enough talent on this team and what we think are good enough coaches to not get destroyed by Ohio St at home. Indiana played them as tough as we did. Mind you they are on a year 3 coach and have half the talent we have.

who's making excuses? we're not good enough, it showed last night. we'll see if they improve as the season goes on.

tell me which players you believe possess 'enough talent' outside of Martinez. 5'9" Wandale? 5'9" JD? 145lb Mo?

take this post and shove it up your ***. the only one delusional is you.

I was thinking that too. There were some boos two home games in a row. I understand his alleged thinking but that could be detrimental long term

I hope I am wrong on this one, but it looks like Martinez has developed a case of the yips. First pic he just didn't lead his guy nearly enough. Next one, he looked like was really trying hard to put touch on a pass where his feet were nowhere near set. If he throws a decent pass, Wandale walks in with a TD. He later throws some baffling pass nowhere near Williams. I almost suspect he ran a wrong route. In any case, Martinez wasn't 3/10 by accident in the first half. He had one play where he made a good play rolling out the right and then skipped a six yard pass to his receiver. Like I used to say in the Jamal Lord days, he could have throw a sky hook from that range and easily completed the pass but he threw it at his shoes. He had a couple later where receivers caught the pass at their shoe tops. Another one he had Wandale in the flat and Wandale had to totally stop where he was running to catch a pass, and this caused his ability to make a play to come to a halt. Martinez is in a bad place right now. I have no idea what is happening to him.
I posted elsewhere.... google Steve Blass syndrome!

Great post. Could not have said it better myself. AM is soft and plays scared and throws INT's all the time. He needs to be benched.

It won’t happen this season, but I think it’s very possible that McCaffrey makes a run at the starting job this spring.

I don’t believe Frost will bench Martinez in favor of Vedral, because he’s coached Vedral for three years and knows exactly what he has there. Hard to believe that Frost would have a better grasp of what Vedral brings to the table than some people who saw him QB one late drive against Northern Illinois, but it’s a world gone mad sometimes.

Even under Cav, we recruited a bunch of 3 and 4 star players. If the talent was really that bad, there was no sense of urgency by this staff to go out and get O line talent. Any issues talent or otherwise on the O line is 100% on this staff. O line is one of those positions where I've seen coaches replaced mid season and the O line is dramatically better the next week with a better coach. I think our O line issues have a lot more to do with coaching than it is talent.

I've seen Vedral play at UCF and he did well when he got playing time. 75% completion percentage at UCF. Martinez isn't playing any better than Vedral would do. If Martinez isn't playing well from here on out, he needs to sit for awhile. Even if it's only for a drive or two, Vedral is really good at hitting the checkdown routes that Martinez neglects and McCaffrey could open up the running game. Having the backup qb's in for a drive or two a game could really help open things up for Martinez if he continues to struggle.
