There was a group of Maryland fans walking back to the med school, within earshot of my group. Unprovoked, they all commented how loud the crowd was, how they wish they could be as loud as thatt, how they get more fans in seats but the Rutgers fans were loud...

We done good, boys & girls!

I heard their was a large contingent who were protesting the move back to HPSS. Seriously though, great win for our Scarlet Knights and the crowd that was there deserves a pat on their backs.

How do you explain the other games. Homecoming wasn’t much better. Let’s face the facts. We need a lot of fair weather fans.

Yes, unfortunately we have a lot of fair weather fans that are not thrilled by CFB in New Jersey....unless it’s a big time team is visiting and RU is having a real strong season.

I have said this before and will say it again. The Parking situation at HPSS is a huge deterrent to attracting new fans to the RU football game. Nobody wants to wait 60 minutes to take buses back to the RAC after a game ( and having to pay $25 for the “convenience “). Something needs to be done or we will never have a big time home crowd at the RU games. Options like allowing Parking on the Golf Course ( like Michigan does) or a new Garage. Something. Also the Ticket cost and Concession Prices are a huge issue .

fans should show up to support the team, regardless...you know, like much of the rest of our conference.
When Michigan was bad for 2 years under Brady Hoke they gave away tickets to their games on the labels of Coke bottles in the vending machines around town. So.

The whole Johnson Park fiasco was frankly ridiculous. Should have reached a compromise.

We go again. It has nothing whatsoever to do with an exciting offense or not. Plenty of teams in the SEC live on the fence, and have for ages, doesn’t stop fans from going to see their games. This is all a product of the previous regime, last season, the decline in season tickets, and this game being moved so late. North end zone is the perfect example as it was practically empty.

Keep winning, Move further out from the flood regime, get back to bowl games, and the fans will be back Citing offense or not.

Greg’s teams didn’t Play exciting offense for all but two seasons yet the fans were there. Silly thought process.
Guys enough already look at Florida State Syracuse today there are barely any students at the game and that is FSU. Plain and simple if you don’t win fans don’t come even in the hotbed of college football that FSU is!!!

I was first in line at Yankee Stadium. No one opened the gate I was at. Maybe because I didn't wear black. People talk about the loud crowd but I didn' hear a thing.

I've only made it to one game in years (I live near Atlanta). Today's crowd was LOUD on the BTN broadcast. Mason commented on how we will have a serious home field advantage once we start filling the stadium again. The crowd booing the missed false start call was hilarious, my kids were cracking up at that.

Rather win ugly than lose pretty. But to each his own.
i would too, the topic is why are casual fans not here? Many casual fans don't care about wins and losses they are there for the experience or excitement, especially students. Only the nerds on the message boards like us really care about the wins and losses.

A fan base isn’t terrible because it’s small. Rutgers has been bad the last few years. Fans left, and stadium is tough to fill.

The the fans that make up this small fan base are as passionate and die hard as the best.

Announcers mentioned how loud it was many times during the game. Even said when it fills up and Rutgers starts selling out again, should be one of hardest places to play in country.

Our coach credited the fans. Players credited the fans. NJ.com basically said we lose if the fans weren’t as loud as they were.

Do we have a small fan base right now? Yes. That’s what losing does. Is fan base terrible. No way.

I think you're correct. Several in our tailgate group didn't make the game because they had no desire to watch the game at Yankee Stadium and so they made other plans.

Uhhhh, were you not paying attention? Justin and his young kids were absolutely going to the game if it had been in Yankee Stadium, as it was going to be the first time he'd ever taken them into the City. And Adam preferred going to YS - they always had plans to be in Philly today for his nephew's b-day party - he was hoping for a noon game in the Bronx. The rest of the crew was neutral - you're the only one who was virulently against a game at YS. That's obvoiusly different from what most on this board have posted about the game in the Bronx.

that series of booing the refs was the best Rutgers Fan response I have seen in MANY many years. Nice job to those of us that were there to participate.
#Proudofthefans there today.

I admit, I loved it. Our fans can really, really, really hold a grudge. It just went on and on, and kept coming back.
That was SO friggin' awesome! And it just kept going on and on and on!

You're delusional. I said several people. Abigail and her parents are several people. They told me they weren't going to YS and that's why they went to b-day party. They weren't going. Only reason Justin was going was because it was a chance to get the kids into the city.

The entire civilized world knows football at YS sucks worse than a hooker with STDs.

Your attitude is why our fanbase is terrible. Have some pride.
No.. it is your attitude that is the problem. Whining about things you cannot control. I bet you complain that fans do not donate enough as well.

I think a lot of people wrote off going to the game in the Bronx.. then made other plans for this weekend.. especially after starting out so poorly with an OC who gets stubborn about running the ball on every down... no matter how many are in the box.

How many people planned trips for this weekend.. accepted invitations to weddings and such?

I went to the game and enjoyed it.. but this team really can stress out a fan.

You do realize I work with Adam every day and we've talked about the game at YS and they were absolutely interested in going there if the game timing was at noon. They were never going to a game, anywhere, if the game was 3:30 or 7:00 pm, as the b-day party was planned for months and had priority.
