Enjoyed season but Maryland and Psu losses were horrible. Iowa only team in Big Ten to suffer losses to Minnesota, Maryland, and Psu.

Those losses really really really sucked.

But that said, a first year (at the P4/5 level) Coach took a mid-major roster and finished (at least) .500 in the B1G and (at least) 20 overall wins, entering the conference tournament, and quite possibly an actual true lock for the NCAAT at this point in time; even while expecting an 0-2 finish to the regular season.


Plenty of bad balanced out with a pretty decent dose of good.


Certainly not a great season, but considering first year coaching at this level and with a mid-major level type of roster .....

No shame in losing at The Barn with a sick roster, but losing the other two just puts a dark cloud over season one. It’s not like they were playing in hostile home environments either…

Miami (OH) survives again. Now 30-0 on the season.

MAC will be a two-bid league if Miami(OH) gets upset in the conference tourney.

Despite their 0-0 in Q1 and probably very questionable NET ranking & other metrics, a team with a 3_-1 record isn't getting left out of the tourney.

I think they will definitely need to win their tournament. But I don’t think they were gonna get in otherwise anyway.

I think this field is much more baked at this point than people realize. Which it usually is. A myth that there’s all this movement in and out of the field or that the the committee is torn on 10 teams. Team ranking and seeding is still fluid. But that’s it.

I think all but maybe 3 spots are locks. It’s such a weak field with some clear delineation at the very bottom.

Absolutely. Loss to Penn St certainly added more anxiety.

But this is a good year if they’re going to lose to Maryland and Penn St. if IU wins tomorrow they may be close to a lock at the bottom. Gives you a sense of how weak this field is.
