OSU beats Purdue today and they have a good shot at knocking Iowa to 9 seed in BTT.
we'll be rooting for PSU and Indiana the next week for sure :)

or maybe it lights a fire and we knock off Michigan or Nebraska and take care of it ourselves?

This OSU win over Purdue is NOT a good result for Iowa's NCAAT status.

I don't know who OSU has in their last 2 games, but Iowa's hold on a "lock" just got a lot more slippery.

They are at Penn State, and home against Indiana, so there is a good chance they and Iowa finish with the same overall record.

I can see a scenario where they get an NCAA bid and the Hawks do not. But....we'll find out soon enough.

Really need Izzo's Spartans to win this game @ Indiana. 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮

Indy is another team trying to backdoor its way into a bid.

Won't hold my breath, but maybe OSU is back to its alternating W/L ways and loses @ PSU????

One can certainly hope and pray that it happens.

One thing OSU's win did, is make it highly likely they will end up knocking Iowa down to the 9 seed in the BTT and out of the double bye.

Sorry, I’m not following this. Iowa will most likely lose both games against Michigan and Nebraska. Ohio St is tied with us right now. Even if they win one game, they’ll end up ahead of us. No? What am I missing?

They are both 10-8 right now. If the Hawks lose out and Ohio State wins just 1 of 2, then they finish 11-9 and Iowa 10-10.

Man, Hawks have put themselves in a really bad spot in terms of their BTT seed after losing yesterday (& @ MD).

As the 9, they'll likely have to play Oregon on Wednesday and should they survive that, get a date on Thursday with OSU who I imagine would love nothing more than to get a rematch.

And if they're lucky enough to go 2-0 vs those opponents, oh yeah, a rested & fresh #1 Michigan awaits on Friday.

Who knows, maybe they can use games against Oregon & OSU to catch fire and stun the CBB world on Friday vs Michigan??

🤷‍♂️

(but in all seriousness though, I would not place a large bet on Iowa still playing on BTT Thursday at the moment)

Got it. When you said “overall record,” I thought you meant at the end of the season. You meant after the game they just won we’d have identical records. Thnx

Anybody following this weird USC-CBM story?

USC leading scorer Chad Baker-Mazara no longer with program

I didn't watch the NEB/USC game yesterday - swore off CBB the rest of the day after the Hawks shid the bed - but that's just bizarre.

Likely only had a few games left anyways, but just quits, with a couple regular season games remaining?

Imagine being part of the NIL collective that brought him in and then he pulls this crap.

He'd been playing with a nagging knee injury that he initially hurt at Indiana in January. seems he re-injured in the Nebraska game. I watched a game last week, i think UCLA game and he was hobbling in that game.

Sounds like he tried to play thru it to help them make the NCAA's but since that's likely no longer attainable he's not available to play and USC is kicking him off the team? Seems to be more to this story? Add the guard from USC that xfr to Washington and got hurt early this season also did same. Basically, once they are done playing ball, no point staying in school considering most have been in college enough years to have their degrees.

Trying to see a silver lining to a BIG 9 seed... At least we would have an opportunity to win 2 games instead of 1. I can't believe that OSU beat Purdue easily. It makes no sense at all.

ONLY good thing about starting play Wednesday instead of Thursday.

But lets be real.

First off, Oregon with Biddle back is a whole different team than the one the Hawks easily beat in Eugene.

Then, if get past the Ducks, Ohio St is gonna be raring to go on Thursday. Not only because of what happened in IC, but also because they are very much on the bubble. Especially if the Buckeyes go 2-0 in this last week of the regular season, entering the BTT.
