Having Toppling Goliath King Sue. My first time ever having one of these. They got a 100/100 or Ratebeer. Very good IMO I cant say its any better then Pseudo Sue by them though both are very good.

I went over my limit last night..and right smack dab in the middle of it was Magnify's Sorry Not Sorry..which I failed to realize was an 11% triple IPA. This night was finished with a Schaeffer can. Tonight, going a different route as my wife will be joining me. Strawberry/lime margaritas with some extra Jose Cuervo Especial.

It's a great story. Bruichladdich is one of the oldest distilleries, founded in 1881 by a family that owned two distilleries in Glasgow. It's on the west coast of Islay, so it's the saltiest, most windblown of the lot. When the company went into receivership in 1994, the distillery closed down. It was reopened in 2000 by a consortium that included Jim McEwan as master distiller and director of production. McEwan is the true Godfather of single-malt scotch, having worked at Bowmore from the age of 15 (he just retired from Bruichladdich last year).

And it's a fine product, if you like the peaty Islays. It's not "wet dog in a campfire" like a Laphroigor or a Lagavulin, but the essence of smoke and earth are still up front, with that slight tinge of sea salt on the tip of your tongue..

Good to know, I've been wanting to go more towards the German/euro brews, but I don't know whats what. I've even asked here in the past, but I always just forget the names as they are so unfamiliar.

The Warsteiner I now know, hope my local keeps it in stock.

My favorite German Pilsner is from Grevenstein, Germany. Veltins Pilsner. 4 .5L packs cans. Sell a boatload of it. Get a bulk discount so pass it along to customers. $4.99

Will look for it here in Central NJ.
There are many good Pilsners out there.. Paulaner, Warsteiner, Bitburger, etc.

Speaking of which, it is so hard to believe that the Munich celebration is shut down this year. My father used to travel to Germany every few years to Oktoberfest and visit my brother overseas. Like a jackass, I was given an invite many time when i was in college, but too cool and busy to travel with my pop. One of my many regrets as I have yet to visit the mother country :<

That's precisely how I saw it, too. Return flight from Memphis, first class on an E-195. First in that little plane is actually a pretty sweet ride.

Start with a strawberry/lime margarita with some added Jose Cuervo Especial....Then a Scorpion Bowl from Stone Brewery and finished off with a Blue Hotel from one of our finest NJ breweries, Kane.
