as a PSU fan.....I can not wait till those guys finally are able to speak and explain themselves (if that's possible). but hey....i reserve a shred of hope there's a credible explanation from them (not holding my breath) why they acted (or didn't act) the way they did. even if they thought, there's not enough to call the police (McQueary's dad & Dr Dranov both testified as such)....how do you not to report to CYS or DPW (not that they would do much) to at least cover your own ***......I mean...it was the 2nd incident!....effin pisses me off.
Why is it taking so long for these guys to get to trial? Are they hoping they die before that happens?

I have no effin clue. the "theory" is.....the OAG, prosecutors, Corbett were all assuming/hoping one of them would flip on each other.....which would've sealed the deal on this entire story......but, they held firm. they (from what I understand) know they were purposely railroaded by the BOT (and who knows who else).....outside of that....no clue why it's taking this long.

Sandusky was prosecuted in 2 mins

i think we all know these guys are going to get off....and the public will be outraged.....what can they say in their tell-all tales that will vindicate themselves?

with all the time that's been passed.....not sure how it's possible to repair their public images......plus, it's not like they didn't make mistakes.

and something from 1998 when Sandusky was being investigated

Just as an aside: A trial date was set earlier this month for March 20.

Also at that time, the charge of failure to properly report suspected abuse was thrown out, so they'll face charges of conspiracy and endangering the welfare of children.

The reason charges thrown out wasn't that charge of failure to properly report suspected abuse was proven false it was because the Judge said the statute of limitations has expired.
Sometimes not including everything can give the wrong impression.
Politics might be in play here, with influential Penn St alumni putting pressure on everyone they can in the Pennsylvania St government not to have the trial proceed to quickly and while that's happening : trying to influence their judicial branch friends to lean the defenses way so they make sure those on trial keep quite about Paterno knowing the longer the delay the better chances those influential alumni will make them get the best deal possible, if not outright acquittal by not turning on each other and telling what they know.

No one with a working brain, IMO.

No one in my Penn State circles believes Sandusky is innocent, but there is a vocal minority of the most hardcore Paterno supporters who have spouted off some garbage suggesting just that on the internet.

Above is why they are PEDD STATE for the next 40 years, or about how long Joe Ped covered up child rape.

Jerry Sandusky is a monster.

It appears he has made at least one of his adopted sons a monster also.

Penn State chose to honor Joe Paterno at a football game this year.

Anything else is just noise.

Sick, sick, seriously disgusting ****.

That's a great question. Paterno supporters will argue one side and Paterno haters will argue the other. My guess is they will plead the fifth or blame the dead guy. Either way, nothing will come of the trials.

So if all three say "Paterno made us cover it up" will the University rescind all Paterno accolades and will all the JoeBots finally shut up?

Either way, nothing will come of the trials.
You better hope so. I'm not so sure any of those three want to risk a conviction for the old man. Recent experience has shown the more folks look the more dirt comes up.

Not sure why I wouldn't hope the truth comes out. I still have a very difficult time believing that Spanier was the end of the line.

In regards to the JoeBots, if they all blame the dead guy they will say that they did so to save their own asses knowing that Paterno couldn't refute them.

I have a few questions regarding Sandusky and PSU.

A. How long was Sandusky with the program?

B. Was he always the Defensive Coordinator?

C. When did he step down as D Coordinator?

So he was an integral part of those Championship teams, which explains why Paterno may have turned the other cheek (assuming he knew, which has not been determined as of today). If Paterno did not know that this maggot was sexually assaulting kids, his wife had to know. No one here has discussed Sandusky's wife and how much culpability she bears.

I didn't intend to mislead. My apologies if I did. But yes, the state got very creative with how it chose to interpret and implement some of the charges. Five years later, and lots of time and money spent, only a couple of them are left.

C/S/S could have deflected blame to Paterno much sooner than if/when this thing sees a court room, FWIW. And either way, they'd still be facing the same endangerment charges, based on how the state is interpreting that. Regardless, I hope we learn more.

Maybe they are lawyer-ed up and keeping quiet?
The fact they have not fingered the old man yet doesn't prove anything.
Again, I ask since all you JoeBots won't answer, if all three stooges say it was a Paterno conspiracy, will you finally accept that you have worshiped a false idol and move on?

1. Of course they have lawyers and have remained silent. My only point was, implicating Paterno at trial doesn't make much sense because (a) they could have done so while accepting a plea deal anytime over the past five years and (b) if an intentional cover-up occurred, whether it was spearheaded by Paterno is irrelevant to the charges they face.

2. I'm not a JoeBot.

3. Will those who are accept guilt on Paterno's part if C/S/S charge that in a court room? Some probably will, some won't.

4. If you're asking me how I'd feel if that comes out in the trial, sure, I'd have to consider testimony from C/S/S in formulating how I view Paterno moving forward.

5. If this is what you hope to gain from this trial, if one occurs, my sense is you'll be disappointed.

superb analysis....Paterno knew in 1976, when Jerry was just a lowly LB coach, there was no way in hell he could win a championship without Jerry...sexual predator or not....Paterno doubled down on his commitment to Jerry by not only supporting him creating an in-state charity to help disadvantaged boys, putting himself in direct contact with children, Joe would also allow is own children and future grandchildren to hang out at the Sandusky household without his supervision.

good work...case closed

would love to see this guy show up alive after living on some remote island..and spill the real beans on the PSU coverup..
http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/15/us/ray-gricar-missing-prosecutor/

In 2011, when former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was arrested and charged with sexually abusing boys, it was revealed that it was Gricar who decided not to charge Sandusky when the first victim came forward in 1998. Gricar cited a lack of evidence.
The intrigue already simmering in Gricar's case exploded. Sleuths desperately tried to find a link between the two cases, but investigators said there was no evidence that Gricar's disappearance had anything to do with Sandusky's crimes.

LMAO..

In 2011 a reporter looked into what went on during the 1998 Sandusky investigation
(this needs to be taken into consideration on why no charges were brought against Sandusky back then.)
There were two police officers who worked on the case,Ronald Schreffler and Ralph Ralston.
Schreffler is said to have been the lead detective was a member of Penn St's campus police force and the one who interviewed Sandusky
Ralston worked for the local State College police force and said he played a minor role in the investigation saying his job was to make sure the campus police was able to interview the boy Sandusky was being investigated for abusing because the boy lived in hid police department's jurisdiction.
Schreffler of the campus police refused to talk about the case and when his wife was questioned about the case she told reporter that she wasn't allowed to talk about it

It also was disclosed by that reporter, the commander of the university’s campus police force told his detective, Ronald Schreffler, to close the case.
and the local ( State College PD) police officer working the case with the Campus Police in said ( after reading the indictment handed down against Sandusky and other university officials) that there were things in the Attorney General's charges he never heard of before .
Seems like the Campus police didn't share vitae information with the local State College Police Department.

Addressing the act that Schultz was head of Penn St's Campus Police when he was told about McQueary catching Sandusky molesting a child, it's not hard to imagine that the head of Penn St's Campus police department would cover up as much as they could when it involved Penn St football and Penn St football's image being protected started with Joe Paterno .

The covering up for football never really made sense to me. When you look at the dates, the timing just doesn't make much sense. I suppose if there was a huge cover up in 1998 then it would possibly make sense since the '99 team was supposed to be great but those charges were investigated by the PA DPW and Gricar. That's a lot of mouths that would need to be kept shut.

The McQueary stuff on its own? What would Paterno be covering up for football reasons? The team stunk, Jerry was gone and Paterno would have looked like a hero for turning him in.

Now, if the allegations from the 70s are true then I could understand it being a cover up for football reasons since Paterno would have to be all in if he dismissed allegations for decades. Those are simply allegations though.

It certainly is a twisted tale and the Gricar part is eerie when you consider the hard drive stuff.

As I've always said, my guess is that this thing is an iceberg and the people named up until now are only the part sticking out of the water.

On the DPW investigation you mentioned :
>The state Department of Public Welfare investigator who closed a child sexual abuse investigation against Jerry Sandusky in 1998 said he likely would not have closed it had he seen reports from two psychologists who interviewed the young accuser. <
>Jerry Lauro, brought in to investigate the child abuse claims against Sandusky, said Wednesday that Penn State police never shared those conflicting reports with him before he closed the case. Lauro said he closed the case because he did not believe there was enough evidence based solely on interviews.<

C/S/S could have deflected blame to Paterno much sooner than if/when this thing sees a court room,
Maybe because their lawyers work for the University?

Harrisburg Patriot News

Graham Spanier, former Penn State aides take a new shot at pre-empting scheduled criminal trial
"What is settled is Spanier, Shultz and Curley's longstanding commitment to fight every step of the case against them at every level - a decision no doubt made easier by the fact that Penn State is still paying the defendants' legal fees."

That's some kind of moving on and doing things right by Barron and the rest of the State College Defend Paterno At Any Cost Club.

Speaking of costs...
Philly Inquirer

Penn State's legal tab for Sandusky: $250 million and counting
And I call BS on the JoeBot that said a few weeks ago all the costs where covered by the football program revenue and not general university funds.
"The university says it has used no tuition or state money to pay costs from the Sandusky case, relying instead on insurance coverage and interest income."
And the insurers are fighting the payments.
So it's not exactly like Sandy Barbour & Jimmy Franklin are trying to plug a quarter billion dollar hole in the football budget.

I know that the university is paying their legal fees because of their employment status, but I'm not so sure they have university lawyers. Since Spanier also sued Penn State, that'd be quite awkward, I'd imagine. Either way, you guys keep making the mistake of thinking Penn State and its students/alums = the Board of Trustees = C/S/S = Paterno. Everyone involved is looking out for their own best interests; it's been that way since day one. The "university" does not care if the public thinks there was a cover-up and/or Paterno was involved; in fact, many of the trustees might prefer that narrative.

Also, the athletic department is indeed on the hook for $60 million (the NCAA fine) and will in fact pay at least part of that back to the university with interest. Obviously the athletic department cannot pay for everything, nor should it.

What about Sandusky's wife? She had to know something was wrong with her husbands behavior. I read that in one incident he left their bedroom at 11:00pm to go hangout with the 11 year old downstairs. She lived with him on a daily basis which leads me to believe she knew he was molesting children.
