picked up an LG 55 in4k smart tv recently and it works great. Technology changes so fast that it probably is not worth it to spend $1500 for OLED or QLED when they may be under $500 in a few years.
You can get a 55in 4k tv for between $250-450 right now
Thats the kind of deal I’m looking for. Growing up i remember having 2 TVs my entire childhood, and getting the second one was the biggest event of the year. Now, I saw people buying up big flat screens on Black Friday like they were disposable. I’m looking for one those $220-$250 for a name brand deal, but don’t want to get a total piece of junk (I’ve had issues with cheap dynex and element TVs, that cost $300 five years ago). Heck, my local Shoprite has a stack of 50” LGs for $260. I’ve heard positive things about TCLs, but wanted to gut check this board before getting one.
One thing I noticed with the TCLs at Target is that the bottom border is a bit bigger than others, which will annoy me now that TV borders are so thin. The LGs on the other hand have only 2 HDMI ports, which when I have a cable box, Nintendo switch, classic Nintendo, wii, and classic Super Nintendo, is a few too few.
