Anybody else hear that it's closing? Maybe I'm dating myself, but I've always known Tumulty's to be there. It's a New Brunswick institution. No idea on the reason.

I hear ya!This is so wrong on so many levels. Had my first beer in a restaurant at Tumulty's. Must have been '85 or '86.
Beat me to it.The wedge of lettuce, loved starting a meal that way.
Me too.Had my first wedge salad there.
I hope they auction off the train set.
Good choice.Wedge salad and Manely's Mess was the order. Sad to see it go, but honestly, it didn't seem like the owners really put any money into the restaurant in quite some time. Looked a little run-down when I was there last year.
As do I.damn!! great spot..recall the old location..

Are you sure about this? If so, not necessarily a bad thing. Place needs to be spruced up a bit.Might want to change the title.
They are NOT closing, just a change in ownership with some possible alterations.
Still should be called Tumulty's.

We can blame @mildone for the rumor:I'm sure
Nice to know. I still remember as kid trying to get a handle on those giant 70's era cheese burgers. I refused to use utensils - what glorious mess.I'm sure
Me too, I although I was young. Was into the trains at that age.Wow. I even went there at its' previous location, before it relocated due to the J&J expansion.
I'm innocent. I swear. We can blame @mildone for the rumor:

Glad its not closing. It was a go to option to meet friends before football games where we didn't have time to tailgate as well as before basketball games. Usually packed with opposition fans as well which makes for interesting conversations.
Any relation to Patrick's Grove off Riva Ave ?. A great company picnic grounds in the 60' s on Farrington Lake.Tumulty's was bought by the family that owns the Brunswick Grove on Milltown Rd. in East Brunswick.
