I feel your pain!!!!! 17 that ****. you cannot kill it according to MSU Ag Ext. However, you can suppress it. I have 3 patches myself that i've been working on. I have used every chemical know to man, both label and non labeled for residential use. Nothing by itself works, it actually seems to enjoy it. BUT, after researching and talking to gold supers, it's not hard to suppress but it is expensive. Tricor, Tenacity and Image all used as a combination works quite well. It will bleach your bermuda but it comes back strong in a couple of weeks if its healthy. Use the 3 chemical combo at label rates and repeat application in 10 days. Repeat again in another 10 days if its not disappearing.
The problem is the roots can travel up to 400 yards. You can actually pull a root up and stick it in RoundUp. You will see numerous little sh!ts dying out throughout your yard. The only problem with the live with it approach is it will continue to spread. if you can't deal with it now, you'll really hate it in 5 years.
I can vouch for the result, but waiting to see how fast it comes back and will retreat as necessary.
Good luck!!!!
