I know all of us on here who drink Bourbon have talked endlessly in previous posts about our favorite Bourbons.

But I don't always like spending a fortune on top shelf stuff. So what is everyone's favorite cheap Bourbon?

Costco has a Kirkland Canadian Whiskey and Vodka that is pretty good so I am guessing their bourbon isn't terrible.

Kirkland? Ok. My favorite cheap Bourbon is Evan Williams. But out here in PA, it has been creeping up in price. Hence the thread. I will look for Kirkland
I concur, depending on what your definition of cheap. Evan William for sure in the bottom teir and Jim in the middle. Soldier valley made by 2 local veitnam vets and their wives is decently priced and ranks right up there.

If "cheap" means under $25, then Buffalo Trace. If it means less than that, then I'd say Evan Williams. I've recently started a bit of an affair with Woodford Reserve, available for $30 in CA at Trader Joe's.

Cheap means $30.00 or less for the big bottle. Lol. Buffalo Trace is one of my favorites, but out here a big bottle will cost around $60

How much we drinking here Pennsy?!? I know that you know, being as I am writing a dissertation and you wrote one as well, that such an undertaking (and grad school and academia in general) tend to make one "turn to the bottle," but I am still able to easily rationalize a $30 standard (750 ml) bottle of the good, well-aged corn syrup on the grounds that my beer costs on average $9 per six pack.

Actually, I've been trying to drink more tea and less booze and coffee, but I was just thinking that after my run I should stop by the store and get one of those six packs. So, as you can see, it's going real well.

I just recently discovered Michter's... I thought it was fantastic. Enjoyed it over Four Roses and Buffalo Trace.

I drink one large Bourbon every night. And two a night on weekends. It adds up. Lol. I never drink to excess though. I haven't been drunk drunk in maybe 20 years. I just like to be mellow at night. And yes.... writing that freaking dissertation was awful.

Actually you introduced me to Templeton Rye. I have a good friend out here (unfortunately a huge PSU fan) who introduced me to Buffalo Trace. My favorite Bourbon though is Colonel Taylor.

Well now maybe I’ll check out some Colonel Taylor for the Kick Off season Thursday night over my Iowa buddies house for the NW/ Purdue game...

Colonel Taylor and Buffalo Trace are both from the buffalo trace distillery. If you like both of those you should try Weller. It is their cheapest whisky ($20), and it is a pretty dang good wheated bourbon.

Some others: Old Grand Dad bonded, Elijah Craig small batch, Jim Beam Black. Henery McKenna is a great value too, although it is more like $30, but I think it is better than almost any of the $50+ bourbons out there.
