Dividends are not free money falling from the sky. If you get a 7% dividend, the value of your fund goes down by 7%. Look up the data on Morningstar. The funds with the highest dividends are routinely the worst performing funds with total returns (which is what matters). Dividends are forced selling of your principle at best, and a total scam at worst.I don't understand your post. Owning this fund isn't about total return, just for income. 7-8% tax-free is like a 12% annual return. Secondly, the risk of losing principle is less than the risk of owning a stock.
A MM fund is better than most high-dividend funds. Might as well just keep your money in cash.
