Unless the agents are all breaking out, each firms AI is not sharing info with the rest of the street. Unless you think every firms is colluding with each other.
I wouldn’t rule out collusion LOL but I think the simpler answer is they can analyze things like the same trends and trading ranges and exploit them…or even reacting to news headlines based on models calibrated the same way will drive volatility

Perhaps in reaction to Trump not escalating the conflict right now. Or maybe people realizing that a 25 (or even 50 bps) rate increase is completely and utterly irrelevant in every way.
I’m clearly clueless about economics because seems to me gas and utility costs are what’s driving inflation and both are largely the govt fault. So what’s the answer- make everything like housing even more problematic

I wouldn't say it's completely irrelevant, but it is only .25, AND the market has seen this coming for months.

I have TEM ripping.

I've owned it for going on a year. Still down on my initial position, but have added throughout the year and now I'm green on the overall position.

Up 15% today, up near a double since July lows.

I should have bought that summer low and put it in my long-term spec stock basket. I've been focusing on SECZ and a few biotechs instead.

Anyone catch Andrew Yang’s CNBC interview yesterday? basically said the reason why frontier labs freaking out because they were training on the internet and agents/bots started self replicating uncontrollably and polluted the internet. I’ve been investing/trading in the market for over 20 years. Last six+ months the charts just look different to me and the sector rotations happen light years faster than in the past. The charts start to look like mini pump and dumps. It’s not crazy to think that trading bots are coordinating trades and exploiting/driving volatility. Just a bot version of Roaring Kitty on a grander scale. Thoughts?
I’m impressed that they had the foresight to call themselves “labs” to help try to give some cover fire to the things they were going to do. Each time a politician comes out with a new announcement, the odds of this being a coordinated op go up 5%

I asked AI about market manipulation based on algos and bots…here’s the response…and it’s the second bullet that I find most interesting…

Yes, the stock market faces growing risks of AI-driven manipulation and automated distortion, though regulators and exchanges treat these behaviors as evolving forms of market abuse rather than a completely lawless frontier. How AI and Algorithms Impact the Market:
    • Massive Order Surges: According to the New York Stock Exchange, AI-fueled trading and hyper-speed algorithms process 1.2 trillion order messages per day—a threefold increase over a four-year span.
    • Algorithmic Collusion: Researchers show that AI trading bots can learn to tacitly raise prices or widen spreads simply by observing each other's behavior, without direct human communication.
    • Financial Deepfakes: Fake audio, video, or reports generated by AI can trick retail investors or trigger split-second algorithmic cascades before humans can verify the truth.
    • Amplified Volatility: Preset algorithms use volatility as a key input, meaning sudden shocks can cause computerized systems to accelerate market drops faster than traditional safeguards can respond.
