From what I've see on line, the Wagyu beef has about 348 calories and 38 g of fat per 100 g serving (3.6 oz), while a rib-eye steak in the US generally has about 256 calories and 21 g of fat per 100 g serving and bacon has 417 calories and 40 g of fat per 100 g. So, yes, Wagyu is more like bacon, fat/calorie-wise and I've eaten up to a pound of good bacon a few times, although I much more often eat 1/2 pound, because I'm usually eating it with eggs or on a sandwich (and I eat it barely cooked, as the fat is the best part), so maybe a pound of the Wagyu would be a little more than I'd eat, but if it's as good as advertised, I would think I'd want at least 3/4 of a pound. Can't imagine it making me feel sick. Just asked my son and he agreed - it's now on our list to do, lol.
