My neighbor has been renting out 2 places on the OC boardwalk for 25+ years from 2 different people. He pays 40K for the one per year from a well known local family who own a couple blocks of the boardwalk stores, he got a big reduction from him on that one due to the COVID issue, not being able to open on a normal schedule and decrease in business.
The other one he pays &80K per year and when he asked the landlord (Philly guy) for a decrease he laughed and said go pound salt. So he did, luckily for him he was contemplating retiring in the next few years anyway and he works his *** off all summer, 16 hour days, 7 days a week. Here we are in July and the place is still vacant and likely will be the rest of the summer/year. For the landlord to think anyone was going to rent this summer when all these businesses are failing is short sighted. Now instead of $60K which is what he offered him, he will get nothing.
