and while that may be true it has nothing to do with the hall of fame. Ray Lewis actually murdered someone and is in the NFL HOF. His punishment was not getting in while alive. It doesn't really matter if he gets in now or not. If the HOF votes him in, they can put something up there about his history on gambling, and ban, make it part of his exhibit.

I guess this is one guy who will not be voting for Rose, seems a little too upset about the whole thing.

Ray didn’t murder that guy man. Blood would have been on the mink. It’s a fun theory but he didn’t kill anyone. You know who did though? While not in the Hall Ray’s teammate who was allowed to continue playing after he actually did kill someone and was convicted for it…

The baseball writers and HOF committee should be absolutely ASHAMED of themselves. If they were going to put Pete in, they should have done it when he was alive.

Waiting until the year after he died to do this when they know how much it meant to him is an absolute slap in the face. Despicable behavior really. To wait until the man dies to do this…. Genuinely, every person responsible for ensuring this decision didn’t happen until after his death she be told to their face that they failed and should be ashamed of themselves.

It’s so sad for Pete, he deserved to be alive to see this
The timing was explained above.

And supposedly, even though he says he was not involved, he begged his friends to keep silent. But when it did come back on them, he flipped to protect himself further. What a great god fearing friend...and then he spends the rest of his time judging so many others...

I'm dubious of the Rickey Henderson allegation. The sister said it was a repressed memory & apparently the Civil case was dropped. Rickey strongly denied the allegations and counter sued her for Defamation as being an Extortion attempt. So not really buying it.

Rickey Henderson raped his sister… Curt Schilling there’s a laundry list of examples of him being one of the worst human’s ever none more despicable than him sharing Tim Wakefield’s diagnosis without consent.

Both are HOF’ers.

Baseball writers are terrible

He was in a limo, the fight was outside
Actually a witness claimed Lewis was part of the fight, but recanted his testimony and the prosecutor withheld that fact from the defense , discrediting the prosecution's case.
>Gwen said he saw Lewis “tussling” withone of the victims, Lollar. He saw Oakley
punching the other victim, Baker, in the
stomach. Then the man with the knife
began chasing Gwen, who turned and
ran for his life.

The defense was lying in wait on cross-examination.
They knew that Gwen had
originally given authorities a written
statement saying he saw Lewis punch
Lollar. They also knew that he had told
prosecutors a few weeks later that he was
mistaken and actually saw only Lewis
wrestling with Lollar. The law requires
prosecutors to turn over all evidence to
the defense, and prosecutors had never
informed them about the change in
Gwen’s statement. The defense discovered
the contradiction only when they
interviewed him themselves in Ohio<

Also reinstated is my wife’s great uncle, Gene Paulette.
I have no doubt that he will NOT be voted into the HOF. But hey, it is satisfying to say that he is eligible.

Jackson, as far as I have seen, was never actually proven to be in on the fix. A good attorney today would have gotten that dropped.
Rose could have admitted what he did and gotten some kind of absolution by the league. But, his arrogance was what did him in.
They say over 30 of his records are already in the hall. I would not vote for him now.

I'm just wondering why. What precisely is your reasoning not to put him in the hall of fame? The gambling?
Myself- Since all sports have now prioritized gambling over just about everything else- his gambling should never be an issue anymore. Also- part of his ban(which he agreed to) included the ability to appeal it each year. So, having it lifted now, is the same as winning an appeal. so, it should make him eligible.

I also think this never would have been lifted if MLB didn't make more money because of gambling than anything else. And, the fear that one day, we find out the reality of S.O.

Pete was also just a scum of the earth. Underaged girls and such.

But, he was always a good interview and the media always had good stories to run on him...So, he doesn't get the Albert Belle treatment.

So, for what he did on the baseball field, he now deserves to be in the HOF.
