While reading the stories, I'm noticing that a 3 year old and a 6 year old were among the wounded. My question is what kind of parent takes their kids of that age to a midnight showing of a movie? They should have already been in bed.

I dont really have a problem with taking your 6 year old though. There were plenty of kids for midnight movies like Harry Potter and others like that. I wouldn't take a 6 year old to a midnight movie, but cant judge someone else that does.

but I would be concerned with 3 month old child's hearing. Is it okay to subject a baby's ears to that? Honest question.
not that colorado is alone in this aspect, but the parents of the kids probably needed a bath and spent $30 of their last remaining $50 to get into the movie.
I think you are what is called a "sane, rational parent". I wouldn't even take my 3 and 6 year olds to see the Avengers, and it's not near as dark as I'm sure Batman is.<div>Seinfeld said:

The parents, especially if they have a young kid, should take more responsibilty and not even take them to a PG-13 movie, that is violent, loud, and may frighten young kids. If you do take your kids to this kind of movie, just wait until the next day...your kids will not care!! These are probably the same type of people that beat and cuss out their kids in check-out line at the grocery store too!
Back in the mid or late 1990's, I went to see Nothing to Lose with Martin Lawrence and Tim Robbins. It was rated R. There was a little black kid sitting in front of me that looked just like the kid on the "***** done stole my fish" picture. He was probably about 5 or 6 years old. Before the movie started he kept asking his mama when it was going to start. He said "I can't wait for this movie to start because Martin Lawrence is a funny mother17er."

I can't think of a recent incident (of this type) where a gun packing citizen stopped an assaulting gunman that had opened fire. In this particular case the gunman had on body armor. So playing the hero would have most likely gotten you dead. These tragic incidents have been increasing in frequency through the years, and will continue to do so, whether people are armed or not.

I could hit they guy in the head or knees within 30 feet easily with my first shot..... Glock 23 or 27 would do the job for me..
I am sure there are plenty of citizens out there and on this board could and would do the same if they had the option..

"Body armor" doesn't make someone invincible. Kevlar vests absorbing the shock of the round may prevent the round from penetrating the body but the sternum, ribs, etc. can be/usually are fractured; just staying on your feet after being shot is impressive. <div>

It also was probably dark in the theater, so you could use the seats as a shield to and hide. You could almost empty your magazine
