OP would you play him over Maxey, Quickley or Hagans? Enough said.

He never remotely suggested or implied any such thing.

Jeez, some of the defensive or mean-spirited responses in this thread are something else. Some of you guys look too hard for an ulterior motive in posts where there is none, maybe the OP just wanted to discuss how a former UK is doing now.

I don't get this mentality where some think we're supposed to dislike and cheer against guys like Quade. Personally, I got a kick out of the success guys like Wiltjer and Matthews found after UK. And I hope Quade finds similar success himself.

Better question would b, would b, anybody keep EJ over Jaden cause i would take him 1000 times over EJ!
True but , I just don't think you should ever run a kid off to sign someone else . If a kid wants to come in and beat someone out that's fine , but I just don't think you run someone off because the new guy doesn't want to compete .

Bilas is stealing my Jonathan Isaac comparison for McDaniels.
Don't know why Gabriel felt compelled to warn McDaniels about UK . The kid is everything Gabriel thought he was . Excellent ball skills , good shooter, and a playmaker. No way Cal would inhibit him from making plays .

Man Jaden McDaniels will be in the running for a top 3 pick. I didn’t realize his handles were so damn good. Can play the two or the three easily. Way more aggressive than he was the last time I saw him

Watched this game solely to see how good he was.

That move where he got the defensive rebound, pushed the ball up the court, went with a in-n-out dribble then behind the back to finish over length with a floater was absolutely filthy. He might just be a top 3 pick if he plays with that kind of motor all year.

Honestly, if he wanted to he could be in discussion for #1 overall. Super high ceiling. Wish we could have had him...

I was surprised by how he defended (he blocked a few shots) and made wise decisions in the half court. He didn't force offense and it's clear he can get his shot whenever he wants to. On one crucial play, he made a nice pass for a dunk instead of forcing a ten footer. On another play, he got an isolation call and drew a foul and went to the line. He also rebounded better than I thought he would and didn't mind mixing it up down low.

Washington has a decent team with top-heavy talent. If Quade can give them a fourth weapon, they might make some noise out west this year.

I know part of the sell on EJ returning was that he was slotted at the 4 spot, but I wish the staff had sold Jaden on EJ playing the 5 with Nick had McDaniels picked the Cats. Maybe they ultimately did. I guess we'll never know for sure, but McDaniels and Maxey would have given us a lethal combination in the half court.

It's not every day UK has a real shot at a 6'9" forward with those types of guard skills. Knox was that type of kid, too. I love watching those guys play for Kentucky. It's such a rarity to have a guy like that and it's a joy to watch it happen when they pick Kentucky.

Everything I thought I saw in McDaniels is definitely there.

I think I've changed about not liking how Quade left here. We shouldn't be mad at Quade for leaving UK. He was clearly in over his head, but you can't fault him for accepting a scholarship to play here if Coach Cal himself extended the offer. We should actually appreciate that he left instead of holding a scholly hostage.

I didn't realize how good Stewart was. Goodness, if we could have just gotten one of him or McDaniels they could cancel this season and just give the Cats the title.

I still think Stewart wanted something Cal was not into ($$ or PT)..Cal even ran out on his visit.(I've never seen this before). To me, he was pissed and didn't want to waste his time...

The part where you start a post when it was 5 minutes into the game his team was losing and he had next to zero on the stat sheet. What part of this is hard to understand? If it was halftime and he had 10 points and 6 assists and was leading them against a ranked Baylor team then I’d understand a go check out Quade post. That wasn’t the case when this post was made.

I wish Quade the best, he is a good player just doesn’t fit in Cals system. Too slow, can’t guard athletic guards and not athletic enough himself to be impactful. I hope he does well at Washington. My point being the only reason to make the post when he did is for Nefarious reasons.
This makes no sense. It doesn't explain why you asked the op which of our existing guards he would like to replace for Quade. What you posted above, has nothing to do with your snide comment towards the op in your first post.

As far as the OP's intensions, I didn't know this was a UK only board. QG is an ex UK player and the op wanted to talk about the fact that he was playing at that time. Surely you're smart enough to realize that.

Besides, many people followed up in this thread with comments about the game, which was the intended purpose of this thread.

Just admit it, you tried to be an AH to the guy and act like he wanted QG instead of one of our current guards.

I watched the game and I disagree that he looked good.
Who are you disagreeing with? Reread my post, I simply quoted what the OP said. You may disagree.with it, I'm fine with that, I didn't even watch the game and I don't care how he looked.
But my point stands, the op didn’t say he wanted to replace any of our current guards with Quade.

Why would EJ have been "run off"? He didn't have to go anywhere, he could have played with Mcdaniels.

Why are people saying someone would have been run off? Was Cal.expected to send EJ packing? I never heard that.

My opinion is I never take issue when guys leave here and they leave with class, like Quade and Kyle Wiltjer etc. I wish him nothing but the best.

He made the right decision. He was never going to play here.

Umm ..did you actually watch any of his time here?

Your post is easily disproven by the fact that he DID play here ...a LOT ...he averaged 25.6 minutes per game in his one full season here, more than anyone on the team other than SGA, Knox and PJ.

On what planet does playing the fourth most minutes per game as a freshman equal "never going to play"?

Some of you putting him down are the same ones like me who were celebrating his high school announcement to attend UK. Plus, them posting how he was going to be the perfect point guard for us.

Like several elite programs we will get a few highly ranked recruits who flop in expectations. The name Skal comes to mind.

Good luck to him.

If you think he is playing over IQ, Ashton, or Maxey maybe I need to be asking you how much do you think he would be playing. He made the right decision

I never suggested he would play over those guys, nor that he made the wrong decision. Try reading what people actually say, instead of trying to infer false intent.

I was just pointing out how dumb it was to say a guy who got a ton of playing time here was "never going to play here." Nothing more was meant.

Quade’s greatest attribute was his association with Mo Bamba, but that turned out to be overrated.

I wish him well. He clearly was recruited for the wrong reason and was never going to stick in Lexington.

he was recruited because we needed a PG and pickings were slim
after we missed on Young, there was very little left, Green and Waters (LSU ) were the best of what was left

who would have guessed we already had a great point guard that was ranked #34

All I’m saying is he left for a reason. I believe that reason to be he knew he was not gonna play that much here going forward. I will pull for Quade as long as he not playing against the Cats and was quite happy when we signed him. Things didn’t work out for some reason or another and he moved on. Not inferring anything or calling anyone dumb like some people. It’s OK I’m not sensitive. Have a nice evening. Go Cats!
