He's getting widespead adulation from the media which I'm sure is good for recruiting. Probably big buck donations from the alumni for NIL deals.

What I will be watching is what happens the first time he and UC suffer a setback. Will the coverage resemble rutgersal's coverage of RU football or the Star Ledger's?

You have to give Sanders a lot of credit. To replace 80+ players and get everyone together and on point is impressive. I thought that he could be successful because of recruiting. I did not think he would have a.good team in year 1. We will see how it ends up but he is off to a great start.

This thread didn't age well
Pump the brakes. First win is nice. Did TCU deserve the ranking?
Typical Big 12 contest with no defense.

As usual, a rational take.

We’d kill for a ranked win in season 4.

They did it in game one after completely turning over their roster. In their first game.

How they did it has already been validated. They were 1-11 last year.

You will reach far and hard to make the head coach at Rutgers who you have a thing for to look bad.

Rutgers doesn't have football tradition or unlimited private funds to be turned around quickly or even attract a high profile coach. Schiano is a good coach who can slowly turn it around, we just have to wait.

But Colorado does??? Funds will come if we make that splash hire. Just like what happened at Colorado.

Stop with this victim attitude all RU fans seem to have. This type of thinking only hurts us

Colorado isn’t Texas. Schiano signed a bigger contract.

Colorado was 1-11 last season and thinking of dropping the program.

People have to stop. Sanders is setting the bar for how to achieve success immediately. Schiano is in year 4 and hasn’t sniffed a win like he got in his first game.

I'm guessing less than the number of insults you lon out at Rutgers and Greg.

How did that make Greg look bad? Try sticking to whatever point you are trying to make.

Definitely more than the Greg insults. Likely thousands more.

When one coach proves it takes ONE GAME to show a turnaround of a bad team….and another coach is having difficulty showing this heading onto his THIRD SEASON!! … it kinda makes that latter coach look bad.

Hope Greg proves me wrong

Colorado has been to 29 bowl games, ranked #1 and national champions in 1990, and won 26 conference titles. When people hear Rutgers, they think of academics and a not so great football team. That's a big difference. It has nothing to do with victim attitude.

I was mostly relating to his “funds” argument.

Why are you bringing academics into this?
It makes no sense . We are talking football

Think you are reaching and making a mountain out of a one win molehill. But you are entitled to your opinion as I am mine.

I am far from a Greg cheerleader, and I consider myself impatient with the lack of progress, especially at QB. But Big 12 and B1G East are apples and oranges. And drawing broad conclusions after 1 win is silly. Did we not learn that from 1 season with Mel Tucker? How has Mel been since year 1?

What I want to see is if Deion insists his DBs do run-stopping. Deion never did. Now.. stopping a ball in the air... fantastic, he was. Stopping a ball in a ball-carrier's hand? Not so much. He'd let them pass by him to try a tackle from behind or simply allow himself to be "blocked" while he made sure the runner did not get the sideline.

Another angle... he could back up his swag as a freakishly quick and fast athlete. Will he end up with players with swag who cannot back it up? Will he avoid good players that don't display his style?

It is something to watch... as CU fans have seem to have decided. Football is an emotional game.. he has that emotion going the right way already.

Well.. this is what I said.. "something to watch"... for the health of the game.. in hopes that Deion would not be setting a standard for how coaches should act.. or that teams wouldn't look to hire the next "Prime" because of any success he has... I was rooting against Prime...

..but, damn, they were totally up for that game.. he played a guy named "Hunter" both ways.. and the guy deserves to play both ways and might be a legit Heisman candidate.. at least be in the conversation.

I did like to see Colorado win for their fans; it will be an exciting season. But Sanders is a very unique person and coach... and father. I doubt this style and personality and results can be duplicated with a new hire.. though I suspect programs will be searching for the next Coach Prime... and they may not make that guy prove it by winning at a lower level first.

I was never a big Mel Tucker fan..his first season with MSU he was 2-5….also wasn’t the best at Colorado.

Coach Prime has won everywhere he’s been.

Ok Mel Tucker year 2. People were comparing him to Greg and how smart he was to use the portal. The reality is we don't have tons of NIL money to lure top players in the portal. We are holding our own keeping guys like Sam Brown on the roster. Not sure what you think Greg was going to do in year 1 being a covid year.

Well the Covid year was arguably Greg’s best so not sure why you’re using that as an excuse.

We would if we had an exciting coach like Prime. To say otherwise shows a complete lack of faith and once again shows this “victim attitude” our fsnbsse has.

Hard to argue. Year 4 and no big wins yet. Prime gets it in his first game.

Prime is just exposing the sham of big time sports. I hope he continues to succeed
