His family has a history of blood clots - inherited thrombophilia that has caused deaths (Sanders only learned of this from his mother after he was having problems.

The Ciff Notes version is that numerous foot injures (turf toe) caused clots that cut-off circulation to the toes. Two of them tured black from gangrene and had to be amputated. There is still swelling that takes place and it makes walking/standing painful. Sanders could lose a foot or his life at any time.

The fuller version is that Sanders' clotting is arterial and goes up his whole leg. His muscles are subjest to "compartmentalization" that constricts circulation. This cant be explained by the toe surgey or injuries

I know that clotting has been related to the jabs, and if I had a family history of clotting I would have never taken any. Sanders not only took them (not knowing familial history) but he busted on Aaron Rogers for not taking jabs.

At some point, the coaches, who are the adults in the room (the players are technically adults to) should have let cooler heads prevail and deliver a message to their team that no crap play and nastiness would be tolerated.

Some fans like the theatrics. I don't. Just play the game. Hi five your teammates when you score, do a chest bump. Mocking and taunting not a good look, IMO.

At a certain point, it just becomes about player safety, though. While I don't personally think those two out of context hits warranted ejection the way the rules are written, I can see refs trying to get control back by setting an example of what amount of physicality they will allow.

My opinion on those plays:

- The CBs hit on the colorado WR was beyond dirty and should be multi game suspension

- the tackle on the Colorado QB was not dirty but (assuming college rules are same as NFL) is technically a penalty as he continued through the tackle and came down with his full weight on the QB (which again I understand is a penalty even though it should not be

- the tackle of the LSU player - as violent as it looked - what else is the defender supposed to do? The offensive guy leaped into him - the defender grabbed him in the only way he could and dropped him (didnt slam him) to the ground

This rivalry is personal. It's common to find CU students on the CSU campus at a party or vice versa. It gets ugly due to seeing someone you don't like 365 days of the year. CSU (& Utah) never forgave CU for leaving the Rocky Mountain Conference for the Big 7 (Big 8/Big 12). CSU wishes the worst on CU for that move. CU has never looked back. Also, if CU offers a local kid, then CSU offers, chances are the offer may not be committable to CU.

Coach Mac was religious, and the CSU game was the closest I've seen him curse. As you can see, I don't like CSU anymore than I like State Penn or Sorrycuse.
