Has anyone caught Duff McKagan's show on Sirius/XM? He has some good insights, but his wife is his co-host and steps all over him and never shuts up.

Guns just announced a tour with local dates.

Is Slash still in the band ?

I know he rejoined at one point, but not sure that he has remained as part of the band since.
Axl is a ginormous pain in the ***.

Axl’s voice ain’t what it used to be. Saw them with Buckethead in 2002’ish. Was fun show for sure. Tix will be expensive.

What happened to this guy's voice ?

I saw them at Coachella a few years ago and thought they were great and sounded the same. Axl had to sit down as he sung because he broke a leg. They obviously played this song and the crowd loved it. Though the Gen Zers I think didn't appreciate as much.

Used to like to play this one at RU bar jukeboxes, because you got your monies worth. I like how it starts to rain, guy jumps into wedding cake for no apparent reason, then right to the funeral scene. I like a storyline that moves along.

I like the guitar solo.

Not sure I ever heard that song before and I couldn't listen all the way through. An entirely forgettable and boring song.

You never heard that song before ?
Is this your first day in this country ?
I might have heard the start at some point in the past and switched to another song quickly. It's not interesting to me. I like lots of CSN/Y, but not that particular song.

I have broadly eclectic musical tastes but don't like everything I hear. Choices in art and entertainment is a great thing.

Edit: Also, I haven't listened to the radio since I was young so I don't get bombarded with whatever someone at a radio station thinks ought to be popular. Spotify and Tidal are great at serving me up new music I enjoy unlike radio which I've always found hit or miss, with way more misses than hits.

Sorry, but I was surprised that you hadn't heard this song....many times.
I have friends who like only classical music. I have friends who like only (mostly) country music.
I have friends who only like oldies ( I would call it 50s music).
But none of them post on a Rutgers football board. I guess it's my mistake to assume that posters here would all have heard November Rain any number of times over the years.

I will throw my $.02 into this. I think this is a good song. In no way do I consider this one of the “greatest rock ballads ever written”. If you could put a list of greatest rock ballads together, I don’t think it would be in the top 30 or so. I think the Beatles alone would have up to 5 or 6 tunes in the top 30 ballads.

Interesting list here (only agree with perhaps Wonderwall-many seem like power ballads):

1. “All Apologies” by Nirvana
2. “Wild Horses” by The Rolling Stones
3. “November Rain” by Guns N' Roses
4. “Keep On Loving You” by REO Speedwagon
5. “With Or Without You” by U2
6. “To Be With You” by Mr. Big
7. "Come Sail Away," Styx
8. "Changes," Black Sabbatth
9. "Wonderwall," Oasis
10. "Hey Jude," The Beatles

Rolling Stone has
Hey Jude, Freebird, Black (Pearl Jam), Let it Be, November Rain, Wild Horses, Something, and Stairway to Heaven.

Wild Horses- sure. Black is good. Let it Be and Something- sure.

Estranged off UYI2 was a better ballad, imo.

That's a great list.
I could put half of Springsteen's Tunnel of Love on such a list.
Never really grasped the concept of a "power ballad." I like hard rock/metal/punk, but not "power ballads." Saw one list with several Roy Orbison songs. He could fill a list himself.

Great song but like you I remember the video. I also loved slash getting pissed at the wedding for whatever reason, and he walks out of the massive church to solo, and he's in the desert with the tiny building.

It was one of the biggest hits from the biggest band in the world during 1989-1992 period.
There have been plenty of hits over the years that I found boring and entirely forgettable. Many of my favorite songs are among the least popular on the albums from which they came.

I’m just not particularly well-aligned with what‘s popular in general. I march to the beat of a different drummer.

But it all makes sense, since it's just part of Axl's nightmare.

Same here.
BTW, perhaps you're more familiar with a song by the Stone Poneys...A Different Drum.
There's a chance you've heard of the vocalist in the band.

Didn’t Slash once say that the piano solo at the beginning was the sound of GnR breaking up?

I know who Linda Ronstadt is, but never heard of that band. Named after the venue, I guess?

I suck with band or artist names, and song names. You could play over half my Spotify collection and I‘ll know the music, could hum along with the song, but couldn’t tell you the artist, album (if there is one) or name of the song. I’m guessing close to half the tracks nobody here has ever heard, from artists few or nobody here has heard of before, including me till spotify or Tidal suggested I’d like it.

I just hear stuff and add it to my collection if it speaks to me. The names are kind of irrelevant to me, outside of some artists/bands where I like a lot of their work.

Also, I have a ****** memory, 😀
