He also has a 120' and a 200' one. Which is why he specified it was the small 100' one. He just didn't want to brag is all.

I know because I frequently tie up with him for multi-yacht parties on our frequent trips to Monaco.
Our pontoon boat is not 200' or 120'. We need to add that to mix.

On Real Clear or whatever. We just have TSA Pre Check or whatever they call it, and it works fine for us. Speeds us up enough for what we need, and we always arrive about 2 hours before takeoff, so no problems.

I tried getting a Real ID last time I needed to renew my license. I had my social security card as proof of citizenship and first-class mail from a government agency as proof of address. The piece of mail was a W2, and they refused to accept it as proof of address even though it was first-class mail from a government agency because a W2 counts as proof of citizenship and one document can't be used for both. Didn't matter that I wasn't trying to use it for both since I had something else already satisfying the citizenship requirement. Apparently if I just hadn't opened it yet so they didn't know it was a W2, I would have gotten my Real ID. Infuriating.

I flew from EWR-Den this summer for my nephew's wedding. I even flew back. Is that flaunting my privilege ?
You must own an EV and suffer from range anxiety. 😉 May as well throw another wrench in this thread.

I used to just swing out to the Hamptons on my 49.4 ft Sailboat but as I have gotten older, I switched over to a larger motor yacht and hired a captain and small crew. The sailing was so much fun but just became too much work- Yeah, I know- the larger yacht costs so much more each time I use it but what the hell, it's just money. Right, I am sure you understand as well.

Bruh,

The first rule of “Fight Club”, come on. ☹️
Don't you get the secret special government employee service? As long as you have the handshake these guys can all go there, and it does not impact the quick and discounted service I get.

I don't know. I didn't see the point of bothering with a Real ID. My passport expired this past spring. So around last New Year, I simply filled out the passport renewal form online and printed it up, walked over to CVS near my office and got a couple pictures snapped. Walked over to the post office, threw it all in a Priority Mail envelope and that was that. New passport came a month later and didn't have to go to disgusting DMV.

When I zip through the line, I do a touchdown dance like and NFL player and flip off all the lowly people standing in line still waiting.

I like to get on the plane early, with the rest of the 1st class passengers. This way I can get a pre-departure beverage, ya know? As the rest of the passengers board I make sure to make eye contact and offer them encouraging words as they make their way back to coach. I'll also generally point out that Free Bourbon is the best bourbon.

Made an appointment to get a Real ID because I fly quite a bit. I assumed, clearly incorrectly and quite stupidly, that them forcing you to make an appointment would mean it'd be a relatively quick excercise.

My gosh is the DMV a train wreck. Kilmer in Edison one is at least.
Got my Real ID at Kilmer back in August. Relatively painless but as you said an appointment does not mean you go to the head of the line. The whole process took about 30 minutes and would have been quicker if it weren’t for people that can’t follow directions, read signs or bring the correct documents.

Not needed, but if you need to renew your passport be sure to allow for a shitload of time. Not in the post office, that was a breeze. But bureaucracy takes time to sent you the new one
and not only that part but some countries or carriers require 6 months left on them in case you get stuck for a bit when outside the USA.
(I sailed my yacht to Bermuda this past summer and they wouldn't let me in without the additional time left on the PP).

most of this is true.

Once the Real ID requirement becomes law in May 2025- will your passport still ok on it's own or will you also need a real ID DL?

I went to the South Plainfield location and it has gone downhill since the last time I went nearly 20 years ago, 4 hour wait in the freezing cold outside, absolute shitshow. On top of that after I got in I realized that I stupidly forgot a couple of my documents so I had to reschedule. Fortunately the Edison location that you spoke of was quick and painless, and the reps there were also very polite and friendly.

On my way to my private jet, a 747 of course, I like to take a victory tour through the 3 terminals at EWR singing a slightly adapted version of "I'm on a boat" by thelonelyisland. I just replace the word "boat" with the word "jet" everywhere.

I usually hire T-Pain to join me since it's really not the same without him. And because I can.

On a somewhat different note re: air travel, there's just not enough to be said for destination airports that operate serially, i.e. that they only have one flight in process at any given time. Shannon, IE was like that last summer. When your flight arrives, it's the only one doing so. Inbound clearance took no more than 5 minutes and when we got to the baggage carousel the bags were already there. Seat to street in less than 15 minutes.

Is privilege-shaming a thing now? Never noticed any issues with OP. But I read this board mostly from my 100 foot yacht or in one of my numerous vacation homes. 🤷‍♂️
sounds nice, but if the Cheeser wants to live a simple life of travel, he can use my private jet when I'm not flying back to and Monte Carlo landing on my private aircraft carrier I have docked there and use for living quarters when I'm partying there with other famous high rollers .
When I cruse the sea , I use my converted WW2 battleship , with guns ready for action, so any Pirates that became Yankees won't try to do their Bronx Bomber act on me
Like a wise man once said: "You’ve got to be very careful if you don’t know where you are going, because you might not get there."

can one of you guys buy Al his football facility already so we can go 13-0 and get into the playoffs for the National Championship. I’ll be happy to wait in any TSA lines that get us to the Rose Bowl, Orange, Fiesta or Cotton Bowl.

The only issue I have when flying in my private jet is that I have to make sure a male masseuse is on board to keep John happy when piloting my 747.

Maybe its business travel? What do you care?

This might be a wee bit of an overly envious response. 😀

Three musketeers at it as usual. Worst kept secret on TKR that @RU Cheese @superfan01 and @40Berg are buddies from their RU days and troll each others' posts here often.

Well, it's kind of a secret. I had no idea.

Are they also "NYCBanker"? Always wanted to meet those guys.
It's funny- I have seen a ton of cheese posts but can't say that it ever stood out to me if he was a guy trolling or not- I guess nothing all that offensive- same with berg who is mentioned.
The other one....well

The same. Only there was some message board "inside baseball" at the time suggesting that it wasn't one guy, but at least two and possibly more.

Am I the only person on these boards who can’t keep track of who almost anyone is? There’s only about half a dozen posters who I “know”. Maybe it’s because I don’t often look at posters’ names when I read a thread.

I am the NYCBanker.

Okay, I'm not. I just wanted to say that.

Here's the secret questions:

1) name the bug he was trying to identify
2) name the extremely oversized tool he was using to capture it (no, it wasn't that and he likely exaggerated that part too).
