Starts on Friday with the obvious selections of Hughes and Kakko for the locals. Lots of uncertainty regarding who will go after that and what trades will occur.
Big deal last night with Rangers landing Trouba for 20th OA and Pionk.

Just saw a stat that the Rags have only won 1 Stanley cup in 79 years. Is that really true? How can they be that bad?

Slow down. The Devils history, without Brodeur, would look about the same
So would the Patriots without Brady.Slow down. The Devils history, without Brodeur, would look about the same

But I thought Henrik was better. At least that’s what Rags fan say. How many cups has he won? Would think if he was better Rags should have 4 or 5 cups. No way they wouldn’t win any with the King in net.
Two pretty damned good goalies. IMHO you almost have to compare on a season by season basis. And if Henrik played for the Devils he'd have cups to his credit.
Shero has to make a blockbuster himself.

Well I never said that. I'm not sure the original intent was for this thread to be some rangers devils pissing match.
We both have young teams gearing up for another run, just enjoy the draft process and let it go. Devils have the tough decision to make, rangers are playing with house money this week

If the Devils pick the better player , it could be like 2017 where Patrick is clearly not as good as Nico
I don't think most feel it is going to turn out like that. Both project to be top players with different sets of skills.

Who's "most"?
So far, you cannot project that view based on the first two seasons.
Sorry, I see my post may have been unclear. I was talking about Hughes/Kakko not Hishier/Patrick.
That’s some weak **** bro lol!!!
No it's not.
This proud nj sports fool comes on a draft thread to start some devils rangers drama. Devils had a nice run, with brodeur, one of the greatest goalies of all time. Otherwise their history says theyve kinda sucked like the ranger. Sorry, but its true. Maybe you dont remember the team being a joke most of the time before Marty. The rangers have also been around much much longer which lend itself to the team potentially sucking more.
Point is this is a draft thread not some dumb pissing match. Carry on with the hughes and kakko discussions, please.

Trouba and Kakko for the Rangers, amazing work!Starts on Friday with the obvious selections of Hughes and Kakko for the locals. Lots of uncertainty regarding who will go after that and what trades will occur.

The organization has been around since 74, you need to learn your history. 2 and 1/2 cups in 45 years isn't ground breaking. Lou just got lucky with MB and almost ruined the sport to win those titles. Nothing to crow about.Marty was on the devils for 19 years. The organization has been around for roughly 37. So i wouldn’t call it a short run with Marty.
Rags meanwhile have been around like 90 years and have sucked for 82 of them. And in many of those years there were far less than the number of teams today. You would think by dumb luck they would win more cups

You know, you guys were just about to fold several years ago due to financial problems. I guess the move to that hockey hotbed of Newark hasn't worked out too well.Get lost. Rags are one of the worst franchises in all of sports from a historical point. And you know it. At least when we had a good goalie we went to 5 Stanley cup finals and won 3. Last I checked the rags blew it with queen lundqvist. To have a goalie that good and not be able to win at least 1 cup really speaks to all time terribleness.
Henrik is better. Marty had the benefit of playing in a trap and facing 20 shots a night from dog **** angles in a league where defensemen were able to mug/hold players. Marty's career playing in the era that hank has played in wouldn't have been nearly what it was due to the rules at the time he played. Lets not forget for those cups marty had 2 first ballot HOF's patrolling the blue line with two other defensemen and daneyko and rafalski not being so bad themselvesBut I thought Henrik was better. Yeesh - that went off the rails quick.Jesus superflame can you stick the topic? Find another thread to start your flame wars
if you think marty outplayed hank in 2012 I got a bridge to sell you. Hank stood on his head and took a crap team to the ECF. Someones madddddddddDude. Seriously Get lost. You just lost all the little credibility you had on this board. Go write another b-ball post how the team is better without Eugene.
Let’s not forget Henrik also had a team that sat there blocking shots for him. Rags played a very defensive style from 2012-2016. They clogged lanes. And blocked a ton of shots. He has not been nearly as good since the rangers moved away from that strategy.
The NHL meanwhile changed their rules because of Marty. He was so good with the puck he was like a 3rd defenseman. Why do you think they don’t allow goalies to play puck anymore.
Marty also did it over 20 years and won multiple venizas. Even after Stevens and neidermeyer left he still took devs to cup at age39 in 2012 and outplayed queen lundqvist who was in his prime.
Now go back to striking out at the Cage in Hoboken.
Marty is better then Henrik but Henrik is still a legit Hall of Famer, he's 6th all-time wins, that should make him a shoe-in.Just stop. Henrik is not close to Marty.
Marty is s top 3 goalie of all time who played nearly 20 years. Henrik is a borderline hall of famer. Comparing the two is laughable.
Henrik couldn’t hold Mary’s jock.
The Devils were able to play the system they did because of Marty's ability to handle the puck, no other Goalie other than maybe Roy could have replaced Marty as Devils goalie and the Devils not have to change a thing, he was a seventh defenseman back there, Marty WAS the Devils system. You're showing your hockey ignorance, stop.Henrik is better. Marty wasn't even the best goalie in his era. Just a product of Lou's boring system that almost destroyed the sport (and led to the 2004 lockout).
You know, you guys were just about to fold several years ago due to financial problems. I guess the move to that hockey hotbed of Newark hasn't worked out too well.
