I can't blame Clemente at all if he didn't like it. Some Latin players of that era anglicized their names or at least let their names be anglicized. Willie MC-Covey was really Willie Mc-COV-ey (rhymes with anchovy). Later, Jorge Orta (of the famous missed call in the 1985 World Series) was called "George" Orta. I remember hearing Clemente's name in the 1960 series, and he was definitely called Roberto. The announcer commented that he had a rifle arm in right field.

P.S. Why did I call Bob Prince Bob Woods in my post above? Bob Woods was a guy I knew in college a half century ago. My head is getting soft!!

Willie McCovey was Latin? Wasn't he from Alabama? I get the whole Jorge/George Orta thing.

Yes Bob Prince & Jim "Possum" Woods. Loved them. Wow was Prince off the wall. Complete homer in that he openly rooted for the Pirates, but he called the game fairly. Had more phrases & nicknames like a "bloop & a blast". He probably nicknamed Woods. Colorful to say the least. KDKA always came in clearly.

One of the earliest Mets games I remember going to as a kid was vs the Pirates at Shea. My mom and a friend took me to several back then and really set me on the path to being a decades long Mets fan. Anyway in this game against Pittsburgh a Mets batter ripped one into the RF corner where of course Clemente was. He proceeded to dig the ball out of the corner, pivot and let one loose that went all the way to 3rd base on the fly to nail the runner sliding in. I and many others there that day were simply amazed. Dude had the best OF arm I ever saw.

He and Carl Furillo had the best I ever saw.

Got to see Stan hit game winning home run in St. L summer of 1960. We were on a cross country car trip and my dad’s plan was to try to go to games in as many big league cities as possible. Unfortunately our timing in hitting cities was such that the Cards were the only team playing at home when we passed thru their city 😩.
Had a Musial glove as a kid.

I have just looked at the video again, and I think the answer is "yes." Jackson definitely moves his hip. But Frank Pulli and Joe Brinkman were excellent umpires. BTW, a commenter says the voices are Tony Kubek and Joe Garagiola, but it does not sound like either of them. Kubek was much calmer as an announcer, and Garagiola had a distinctive voice and tone. .

Post 1980 baseball fans have no idea what a very good player Reggie Smith was. Not HOF good obviously but the guy was a seven time AS playing in an age with some of the greatest RFers who ever played the game.

So much going on with that play starting with Bill Russell mis-playing the ball on purpose, Reggie out immediately by force....Imo, its Lopes who should have seen Munson, not Russell.
But Lopes had the easy out at first with slow Lou running, Munson is a tag play
