Your opinion is in a very small minority. 33 people agree with you, the owners, Manfred, and the two guys who liked your post.Players lost the public and lost the war. The fear of a salary cap is asinine. The #1 and #2 sports in the country are doing just fine with a cap. It's not the owners fault that the players unwisely chose Tony Clark to lead the last CBA negotiations and got crushed.
Owners look horrible here. Three of them crying poor in interviews and 2 days later a billion dollar playoff deal comes out with TBS. Revenues go up every year, franchise values keep rising, the owners make money hand over fist, and in a pandemic they tried to force a huge pay cut on the players instead of doing the right thing for the game. Look at Dolan. Worst owner in the NBA and the guy said everyone would be paid. NBA, NHL, NFL, none of them told the players they would have to take a giant pay cut, and the NHL relies on the gate more than any other sport.
