Is the Mets social media team trying to pump this up?

Fun trivia question from Gary Cohen last night. He said that Seth Lugo (surprisingly) has the fourth most lifetime pitching appearances in Citi Field.

Who are the top three? Two are fairly obvious IMO, one is quite difficult.

My guesses--does this include relievers?.

After getting shelled yesterday, Austin Warren has been informed that he is injured and will be placed on the 15 day IL. No word yet on replacement.

As Gary would say, "Oh, wow!"

I checked Gemini (Google AI) and got an entirely different answer, so who knows.

Both Gary and Gemini had Jeurys Familia #1, which IMO was readily guessable.

Gary had Edwin Diaz #2, Gemini had Seth Lugo.

Gary had Bobby Parnell #3, Gemini had Robert Gsellman.

Gary had Lugo #4, Gemini had Parnell.

Gary did not state a #5, Gemini had Jerry Blevins.

As you might expect they are all relievers, who get twice as many appearances as starters.

I know nothing of Xzavion Curry except he's got a really cool name. He does have some MLB experience - 62 appearances over 4 years with Cleveland and Miami. So we'll see.

So in the course of three days:

* A guy named Guillo Zuniga (Princess Vespa's brother?) made his Mets debut. Pitched OK, got DFA'd anyway. But that one inning was enough to earn the distinction of being the alphabetically last player in Met history.

* Another guy named Matt Seelinger made his Met and MLB debut. Didn't go so well. But his name will forever appear in the Baseball Almanac, and no one can ever take that from him.

* And now we have a guy with a really cool name.

I feel bad for this Seelinger. One of the announcers was saying on how excited this guy was to make it to the show. What a long journey…. I guess he’ll always have one special memory
