2 perfect innings with 3 k's in his first outing. Topped out at 99 on the gun. I think he'll be just fine.
It he keeps trying to throw 99, he will blow out his arm again within a season.Originally posted by RUforJERSEY:

I heard the team is not letting him throw curve balls yet.Originally posted by RUMike410:

Yep, when he's 41 years old, the yanks will sign him to a 6 year 80 million dollar deal.Originally posted by RUMcMahon:
Yankee fan here , big fan of Harvey. Mets do have an interesting team this year. I'm not sure if the offense can get you to the post season but Atlanta and Philadephia are awful, so who knows.
Harvey will look great in pinstripes one day
Next contract , Harvey has pinstripes in his blood.Originally posted by RutgersSam:

Much more like a young Tom Seaver.Originally posted by Beancounter88:
With his fastball/curveball combo, he's as close to Gooden as I've seen. It's electric when he pitches (I know, sounds cliche).

This alone could get me back to watching the Mets, Tom Seaver was my all time #1 favorite athlete growing up. Seeing his birthday on the back of his baseball cards was the same as mine as a 10-11 year old made it that much better.Originally posted by zappaa:

This statement alone is why Yankee fans and the team itself are going to be in bad shape for years to come. The front office portion of baseball has changed dramatically over the last handful of years and teams like the Yankees have been slow to grasp that realization. The fact is, players of Matt Harvey's caliber are not going to see free agency this early in their career. Yankee fans were saying the same thing about Mike Trout over a year ago and guess what happened, he signed a long term agreement with the Angels. The same thing is going to happen with Matt Harvey. For all those individuals that have said the Mets have been cheap with their money lately, this is exactly one of the reasons why they have been cheap. They are aware that they are going to have to pay the likes of Matt Harvey very soon. If he did not hurt himself last year, I guarantee we would not be having this conversation. In all likelihood, if Matt Harvey can prove he is the same Matt Harvey from a few years ago, the Mets will sign him to a multi-year contract after the season and make him one of the top paid pitchers in all of baseball. From there, in order for the Yankees to obtain Matt Harvey they will have to trade for him which is highly unlikely.Originally posted by RUMcMahon:
