Just glad he didn't get drilled in the face. Inability to bunt by any player I root for is a long-time pet peeve.

Madden seems intent on burning his bullpen tonight. I guess that's what you do down 2-0, but the odds that he won't need them tomorrow seem pretty low.

Of course no common sense rule they've used before. Gather the umps for one second possibly when I've suffered for 3 decades with this team?????

I'm trying to think of the last time that an umpire waved a runner home on any ground rule double, even if the runner already was on 2nd at the time the ball landed. It's pretty annoying, but it's what they do.

Wow, I wonder if that could have been an inside the park homerun.

I also think a ball that rolls all the way to the wall before getting lost in the ivy should allow the runner on first to score, especially when there are two outs since the runner is going on contact and would have scored anyway.

The umpires should be given some latitude to make a proper judgment on that.

a ground rule double is ALWAYS 2 bases regardless...the only time judgement is involved is if it is fan interference
