Late to the thread party tonight - but party on here in the 7th!

Duda's bunt - I thought it was a good idea but not great execution. With the huge shift, get that ball deeper and it could be a hit. It moved up the runner anyway. He is coming around with that single and now an RBI groundout.

Wright is having a huge night at the plate. I've heard the idea of lineup protection isn't really proven out by the numbers, but maybe Murphy being volcano hot is having an effect. No matter the reason, it is huge for the team moving forward if he can keep up the hitting. Granderson working the top, Wright getting solid contact, Murphy out of this world, and now Cespedes behind them. What a top of the lineup!

I knew Hendricks was not going to go deep tonight, but as a Mets' fan I was happy to see him pulled after four. Burn that bullpen. If Hammel doesn't go long tomorrow, oh my.

This inning right here is critical on D. Slam the door here, no momentum after the 7th inning stretch singalong.

DeGrom has been unreal after the shaky first. Unreal he got thru 7 with that pitch count. He is only at 100 pitches with 30 in the first. I guess he is coming out for the 8th.

96 right, edit. He will not bat. Bullpen to close it out. Why? Let him pitch

According to CBS, the Cubs have 11 pitchers. You know Lester, Arrieta, and Hammel won't pitch tonight. That leaves Fernando Rodney and Hector Rondon.

deGrom retired his last 11 batters. WOW.

I get on Terry Collins all season, but taking out DeGrom is the right move. Kid did everything asked for tonight, and there is a reason why highly paid guys are in the bullpen.

Clippard is fine with a 3 run lead. But have Niese and Reed up in the pen, just in case.

Boy that was a fortunate call on a borderline pitch. Huge start to the 8th.

Clippard gave up 13 ER this season from April through August. September: 10 ER. This makes three straight scoreless innings for him in the postseason, though. 1 ER, 4 H, 2 K in 3.2 IP. Not lights out but effective.

Holy crap, Darling just said the Cubs are 0-25 when leading off an inning in the series. That's remarkable.

Break out the brooms tomorrow! Let's go Matz!

I see Maddon going to Lester for game 4 then Hammels , I like 5 innings one run from Matz , colon with two great inning after all the flame throwers, Cubs are off balance , Cippard two outs , familia four out save. Mets 5-1
