OT: J&J COVID-19 vaccine

I had COVID-19 late Feb so I had to delay getting the vaccine. Went yesterday at around 1PM and got the shot. I didn't realize it was going to kick my butt. I've got the headache, low grade fever and I feel like I have COVID-19 again. Somebody tell me I'll feel better tomorrow!

I had the J&J last year and I had zero side effects.

Probably more of you already had antibodies to fight that gave you the symptoms.

The Moderna #2 train put me in the bed. But it was just about 24 hours of suffering. A little fatigued for another couple days after that. But it was only one day of really feeling like crap.

I had J&J in March w/ no side effect at all. My sister took it too and was down for 2-3 days w/ all classic flu like symptoms. My wife took it and never slowed down. You just never know.

Everyone I know that had Covid and then got a vaccine, got walloped on the first shot of Pfizer and Moderna or the only J&J. If you didn't have it, you got walloped on the 2nd Pfizer or Moderna shot (myself included.) Mrs. Socks got the J&J and never felt a thing, but she never had Covid.

As others have said, it sounds like you have antibodies out kicking butt. You will feel better tomorrow.

In similar news, I have a freakin head cold of some sort. Kids brought it home I guess. I had to go get a Covid test before the 17ing doctor will get me any meds. I get the results tomorrow, but its not Covid, all sinus crap. It's going to be a crappy fall if every time we get a cold or flu we have to wait days to rule out Covid before we can get treatment. This **** will never end.

I had covid in December got the Pfizer shot in april and had no side effects. I also didn’t get sick from covid. Just list of smell and taste. It definitely appears to be a crapshoot

Just got over a similar sinus type cold that I apparently brought home from Omaha. Also got the Pfizer and it was my first time getting sick with anything since pre-Covid. The championship was worth it though.

You don't have to wait to get the vaccine because you had Covid. That's all BS. It didn't make me sick after Covid. Generally men have fewer issues with it too.

i had the J&J shot back in early March after work. The soreness the next day was nothing more than a regular shot. I felt great the next day at work. Then almost exactly 24 hours after the shot, it hit me. Just as I cranked my truck to drive home, a feeling swept over me like I hadn't slept in a week. I didn't feel bad, just tired as hell. It was so sudden, it was like the flip of a switch. I got home and got the chills and ran a fever of around 100. Stayed home from work and slept the next day. Since then, everything has been fine.

#metoo. I look at risk, at 55 and in excellent health, COVID is a near zero risk for me (I've had it, but was 100% asymptomatic).

Had Pfizer in mid March & early April. I was really tired the next day, but after about 24 hours I was over it.


But around this same time I started having a weird pain in the back of my neck - kinda base of my head. Couldn’t massage it or really pinpoint where it was at. Figured it was something related to looking at a computer too much, posture, whatever. Then after about six weeks it went away in mid May. Never felt anything quite like it before and haven’t had any problems in last 7-8 weeks.


I really didn’t make the connection at first, but after a few weeks of it bothering me I began to wonder if it was a side effect of the vaccine. Who knows.

Had Pfizer both shots in February minor fever after second shot, wife zero effects. Saw today weekly numbers were over 2200 and they claim all victims didn’t have any vaccines. Mississippi health came out with preventative precautions which included anyone over 65 who’s been vaccinated to where masks in crowds. I know it’s an individual’s choice regarding the vaccines but it seems to be the better option compared to getting covid, just my opinion.

10 days after first Moderna shot, I had bad flu like symptoms for 36 hours.
1 day after second shot, I had mild flu like symptoms for 24 hours.

I got the second shot about a week ago and will look for the fatigue issues going forward.

Got covid in January and had no symptoms. Not even smell and taste loss. I’m like you and I don’t like taking any medications, not even something like ibuprofen. But I keep going back and forth on getting the vaccine. On one hand I don’t want to get it because of what I said previously, but on the other hand, as a coach, I don’t want to be the person who gets the team shut down this fall because I got sick and didn’t have the vaccine.

Regardless, it's neat to see people mention being vaccinated this late in the game.
Waiting due to having had covid makes sense based on last info I read, at its really cool to then get the shot once able.

About 280mm people are old enough to receive the vaccination and in over 7 months time, 160mm are fully vaccinated and 185mm have had 1 shot.

33% of eligible people have just said 17 that for over half a year now, and news of covid deaths being almost entirely unvaccinated people seems to be quite common at this point.

I am a public school coach/teacher here in Mississippi. Back during the fall I had a sinus infection (I get them about once a year). I knew EXACTLY what it was, but because I had fever, they sent me home and wouldn't allow me to come back until I got not one, but TWO negative COVID tests, that I had to pay for each time. Thankfully it was only a $25 copay, but still, it was $50 that I had to pay even though it was a sinus infection.
