Is ADP the best? Wife wants to get one and I have no idea who has the best price / service options

I would avoid the known brands as a good burglar probably knows how to disarm. I have Front Point. $42 a month and you can literally install it yourself, no hard wiring needed.

Where are you located? I have a friend who set my system up for me, the install and the monthly service charge are so much less expensive than I ever imagined. They did a great job.

Make sure you read the contract. You will see they have up to 15 mins to respond to an active alarm, add in 2 to 4 mins for police response...

Cosign.

Have had mine for 3 years. Perfectly happy.

Not going to stop someone determined to rob your home, but your typical robber is an opportunist looking for soft targets.

Also, check the length of contract
Is it 5 or 3 years
Should not have to pay more than $60 depending on service
Get a wireless phone connection
I would get couple cameras for safety reasons if you have kids and are away from home a lot
I had ADT but did switch
You can bundle with Comcast if they are your cable provider
You should not have to pay for install

I will third the recommendation for Front Point. Easy install, affordable, customer service has been great in my experience, wireless, and the smartphone app is streamlined and easy to use.

Are you looking for protection when you are home or when you are away? For instance, camera's inside the house are great when you are away but suck if you are home. Camera's outside the house are nice but you better get up on the ladder and clean the lens on a regular basis.

ADT was a client for many years. Most people never even arm their system but the sign and stickers are deterrents.

If you need more anonymous internet reviews on ADP v. Front Point, head to Google. You'll be ordering your FP system shortly thereafter.

Talk about timing...my home security guy is here today connecting our home security directly to the fire alarms. We nt with a private company when building our house and have been very happy. Where are you located?

Doesn't do the job while you're away from home, though. A nice-sized doggy is best, along with exterior motion lights, and reinforced door locks/frames. Play NPR or talk radio while you're away, as well. Timers on lights. As for home defense while you're "in residence," consider a 12- or 20-gauge short-barreled pump and load it with 00 or 000 buckshot.

Always had trouble with motion sensing lights on windy nights going on and off with the tree limbs moving.

Pet polar bear. You think that mf-er is still thinking about lifting your big-screen when he climbs through your window and is staring this in the face:

Very happy with ADT. Pay $131 quarterly. I have all first floor doors and windows alarmed as well as motion sensors in 3 locations. Service is good as well. Good luck with your choice. I'm sure they all have their benefits.

Yeah, that will land you in jail. I guess once there you will see a pretty good security system firsthand.
maybe, maybe not.. only cuz ***** libs force their will on the rest of the populace enacting their second amendment right

although i don't got an AR, you come on my property un-invited or unexpected ... yea.. GTFO or you'll see my machetes flying or get hit with paint balls

and yes i have no trespassing signs

Those ***** libs also infringed on my 2nd amendment rights last week when I tried to buy an RPG and some IEDs for my backyard. Yes, I have get off my lawn signs.

Had Sloman's for about 10 years and it worked fine, they install. After we retired, I discontinued the service to cut costs, but kept the sign. Still works fine and is cheaper. But sign is added.

Funny story. The commodore of our club was in charge of keeping a sterling silver trophy valued in the 10K's. He kept the trophy on top of his tv. Bad guys broke into his house and threw the trophy on the couch and stole the tv.

I ordered the simpisafe system a while back after asking opinions about it on the current events board..... I am not handy by any means, but I installed everything ( 6 door entry's, 4 motion sensors, 1 breaking glass sensor, 1 panic button), in about an hour, up and running..... I have no problems.....

The drawback with this system is that if the base station is smashed before the alarm goes off, it will not notify the alarm people..... You solve this by having a short time to deactivate the system upon entry, and hiding the base station...... I have mine at 10 seconds and a burglar would never find and reach the base in time.

This is also one system that you can buy and use as a sound alarm only, with no alarm company contacted, if you choose...... I have several friends who have done so for decades.....not really suggesting that, but you could do it...You can have a really, really loud alarm if you choose, that could be heard in the neighborhood through your walls, I'd you purchase that option....
