There are Hall of Famers and there are Hall of Famers. Hank is in that small room reserved for the best of the best. RIP to a legend. Too many RIPs lately

Some crazy stats:
25x all-star (how does that happen?)
1st in HR
1st in RBI
4th in runs

Your basic run producer scores runs and drives in runs - he was unbelievable. Heard he had amazing wrists and hands.

Just saw this on Twitter. 2021 is off to some start. 🤥

I hear you but am choosing to look at it as him outlasting 2020 at least. My post in the other Hank thread that I noticed first:

RIP. What a life lived.

To his credit, he outlasted 2020...kind of like how he endured and performed in the marathon it took to eclipse 714 and ultimately hang it up with 755.

Today... If you told me I’ll be here in 2037 I would feel much better as long as my wife and family were ok as well. Maybe Rutgers would finally be a solid B1G program not only in academics but sports . Just thankful for what we have now and that is most important to us.

Henry Aaron is one of the greats. Reminds me of these two symbols of my baseball history:

R.I.P. Hank Aaron.

Got to watch him play a lot as a kid in the 60’s. Our Dad always had us select 3 games per season to go to. Always selected Banner Day and then Atl to see Hank, Dodgers or Pirates were always the 3rd game...Dad was a Brooklyn kid so Dodgers made sense but we always found it strange how he became a Pittsburgh fan after the Dodgers left.

I was waiting for a big Aquarian athlete to die as Saturn has just entered that sign.Sad that it was Bad Henry.

He lost a HR for being out of the batters box as he tried to get on top of a Curt Simmons pitch in St.Louis.BTW-Simmons is still with us,the last surviving Whiz Kid.

Oddity:No.715 was off of Al Downing, who was on the Yankees' bench when Roger Maris broke the Babe's single season record in 1961.He was also there when Whitey broke Babe's consecutive scoreless innings record in the Series in 1962.Al was bad luck for the Babe.

This was my favorite baseball card as a kid. It remains one of my faves...

R.I.P.
Great picture ! You can see he is having a good time . I was watching the game with my father as a 10 year old. I can remember everything from that hit even where we were both sitting. Now I miss the hell out of my father and Hank. A piece of our childhoods died today . Thanks for the memory Mr. Aaron . RIP

Answer - there was a 4 year period starting in 1959 when they played 2 all-star games per season

I've watched a lot of tributes from the baseball world today. As great as he was a ball player, one of the all time greats, he obviously a better man. So much love for him.

Speaking of Hank's cards, his 1956 Topps card's action photo is not of him but rather one of Willie Mays.
