OT: Greta Van Fleet

[fishwater99]

Love the or hate them? I enjoy their Zeppelin style. I need to see them live.

[QuadrupleOption]

I like them. I mean Hell, Zeppelin's not making any new music so I like songs that remind me of them.

[dorndawg]

Best rock band in the game rn.

[The Fatboy]

I enjoy their music bit I find myself switching them off and listening to Led Zeppelin

[dorndawg]

what current band is better? Like not the Rolling Stones or somebody else living off popularity from 25 years ago.

[LandArchDawg]

Can they dunk? **

[MarkDallas]

There's plenty of Zeppelin music out there. If you're listening to so much Led Zeppelin that you're getting tired of it and want new stuff, then ok I guess, listen to a knock off. Otherwise there's no good reason for GVF when you could have the real thing.

Also I saw an interview where dude said he wasnt trying to sound like Plant. That just annoyed me because, c'mon...

[WrapItDog]

[GTAdawg]

Hate'm...never consistently attended games at the Hump. Can't be forgiven for that.

I wasn't aware Tool was still making music. I will be checking this out for sure.
I really like GVF. I think they're the only current rock band I can listen to. I'm not into that five finger death punch crap

[1msucub]

I REALLY like them.

The Hansen Brothers look all grown up.

[aTotal360]

It's been a long 13 years.

[dorndawg]

LOL. I'm told Mamaw listens to One By One while cruising at 68 in the left hand lane.

Kinda impossible to be the best in the game if you haven't been in the game for 13 years. But turn it up loud if you enjoy them.

[Maroon Eagle]

I've got to listen to them first. I've not done that.

Re: Seeing them live. I passed on seeing the Avetts at Thalia Mara a couple years ago largely because I didn't like their music on Spotify. A friend invited to their show at Brandon last month and I told her my concerns and she'd said that their last couple albums were overproduced. And well, the Avetts are a good live band. I'd see them again and see if I can check on their early albums-- I might have to look at Amazon Prime to see if they have early albums available there.

[KentuckyDawg13]

Funny, just saw them live last week and new album being released in August. They have been absent for awhile but are back to the same level.

[JungRebel]

After 13 years, the new **** better be the Metal edition of Trout Mask Replica. I haven't heard any of the new songs but I read a lot of it is experimental 7/8 compositions. Would be awesome if true. I just dont want to have waited 5,000 days for a 10,000 days rehash.

[Uncle Ruckus]

I kinda liked 10000 days. Really liked Jambi a lot and the pot was pretty dang good

[VegasDawg13]

Also impossible to be the best in the game if you're a glorified cover band.

[seshomoru]

Not bad... but after a few songs I put on Zep I.

They're good. I'm just old.

Apparently you don’t do A Perfect Circle?

[Dgb02]

Blackberry Smoke. Thank me later.

[Maroon Eagle]

Yes. Looking forward to seeing them in Brandon at the end of July. Tedeschi Trucks, Blackberry Smoke, and Shovels & Rope is a great lineup.

[Lettucexxxx]

Lateralus was a masterpiece.

I hope the snot nosed lil 17er who stole my truck CD player back in the day, is still rocking it

[Dgb02]

Nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Saw them in Anaheim in Feb. Last 3 records and acoustic ep are excellent. If you like them, try on Bishop Gunn out of Natchez.

[HWY51dog]

I was at the Lucero family block party a few weeks ago. Storms caused everything to move inside. Charlie from Blackberry Smoke came out and blew the crowd away. Just him with his acoustic.

GVF isn’t bad. I’m for any young kids actually playing rock music instead of all that auto tune crap they call music now.

[JungRebel]

Jambi, Vicarious, Right in Two, and Rosetta Stoned were all very good songs, but the album overall was not as solid as the others.

Not saying it is bad. It isnt a glam metal masterpiece like Lateralus or a grunge metal masterpiece like Aenima, but it was a good effort. When I say I dont want a rehash of it that doesnt mean I want a rehash of the others either. After this long I'm ready for something completely different that pushes metal as far as it will go, i.e. a metal Trout Mask Replica.

[HamSammich]

Put me in the love em group. I absolutely cannot wait until I can see them live

[Rockydawg]

Magpie Salute

Rival Sons

The Temperance Movement

[Rockydawg]

Did you just call Lateralus glam metal? Maaan... GTF outta here with that...

[Seinfeld]

I like them. I also don’t know of a website that can start listing bands I’ve never heard of at a faster pace than Sixpackspeak

[JungRebel]

Youre right that glam is not the right word, but it's the word that came to me when contrasting it with Undertow and Aenima. Perhaps I should've just said it's the tightest and most excellently produced metal album I've heard. I would like to know what word you would use to describe it in contrast with Undertow/Aenima.

Ya Can’t have anything nice around here.

I guess I’ll help your dumbass out with the correct word : parabolam

With Lateralus, MJK takes all of his weird characters, noises and hauntings into the body of a being. As the album progresses, so does my heart rate. It’s truly an album in which you mustn’t skip a single song. All or nothing. I’d love to read some of yalls depictions of the lyrics but I suppose we can save that for another thread.

[Rockydawg]

What he said.

And if you have not rearranged the album and listened to it according to the Fibonacci sequence, you STILL have not listened to it in its fullness.

Pretty savage review. I don't hate it but I agree with the person who said it just makes him want to turn on Zeppelin.
