Back in the 90s we played a tons of nba live and madden. The graphics were not great but it was still fun.

If I were to get a new gaming system so I could play mainly basketball and football, etc which one would be a good option?

Either Xbox One or PS4 would be fine for that. The sports games are almost equivalent. The PS4 has a stronger Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) than the Xbox one, however it doesn’t really give the PlayStation an advantage over the Xbox. The most powerful system is the Xbox one X, but it costs the most of the 3.

If you want a system for strictly gaming then PS4 is the way to go. I if you want a system that is good for gaming and for apps like ESPN, Netflix, and streaming sports on the internet then Xbox One is the way to go. PS4’s internet browser is about as useful as a **** flavored lollipop, so if you don’t have cable and stream all your sports Xbox is crucial. I have both systems and I love them both.

Why are you using a console for internet browsing?

And PS4 has all those apps. lol

Honestly, if you’re just going to play that few of games, you can’t go wrong with either one. I would suggest you go grab a controller for each one and see which you like better.

I personally enjoy the Xbox controllers much more but it’s all personal preference.

My oldest son plays madden on the Xbox one and I swear sometimes you think you are watching a real game. It’s crazy.

I got an Xbox last year after ten or so years without a console and it is great.I think new models come out late year this year or early next so you might not want to invest too heavily right now.

PS4. One of the most addicting games for me is Friday The 13th : The Game. It's so underrated and if the Friday The 13th lawsuit didn't happen, that game would have been huge. There's no DLC for it now because of the ongoing lawsuit, there's some toxic players who cheat and team up with their buddy who's playing as Jason but that game is fun as hell overall..very addicting. I also play GTA 5, Dead By Daylight, Madden 20, Call Of Duty games, etc on the PS4...I still play NCAA Football 14 and March Madness 2010 on PS3 as well. As for other forms of entertainment, I have Youtube, Netflix, Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu on my PS4 and they all work fine for me.

not to mention there’s so many classic teams like 1996 and 1998 UK you can even make a dynasty with them and use the old school uniforms and clawing wildcat logo it’s badass

Damn, I didn't know that. The only reason I started playing March Madness 2010 is because of the John Wall team..lol..and I got to keep that team or most of them for 2 or 3 seasons, the only thing I don't like about it is it becomes much more difficult to recruit after the first few seasons. It's like it punishes you for winning/winning National Titles. I need to get 2K8 because that all seems awesome. A Dynasty with the 96 team..holy crap. The reasons you listed are why I'll get it. I didn't know all that. Wow.

there’s so much more man,
you can recruit freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors
export teams in your dynasty
practice plays
make your own plays
edit a school to assign rivals and change the school colors and nickname
make your own chants
unlock 30-40 classic teams using points earned by playing the game
every arena is made to look like their counterparts even the small mid major gyms are exact down to their real life counterparts
unlock custom basketballs and arenas
play in neutral site games
choose what arena you want to play in (can be any arena you want)
assign rivals to schools
edit a schools courts
customize your schedule
play in in season tournaments
make your own custom tournament
play in the ncaa tourney with multiple teams setup your dream matchups with classic teams or exported teams from your dynasty
recruit international players
custom game sliders
rivalry games feel like rivalry games students jump up and down in the student section
there’s so much more i’d be here all day

also the glitch you’re talking about happens after a certain point it is indeed a glitch making that game useless i have it but never play it.

Yep, I'm definitely getting 2K8. Oh and another thing I noticed about MM 2010 is that there are usually 2 or 3 games a season that are much much more difficult than others. For example, Southern Illinois came into Rupp Arena and was lighting me up, nothing I did was working..they always found the open man, zones..ha..man to man, pick and rolling me to death..rotations were always late and lead to and 1s. So, I kept calling timeouts to stop their runs. I did end up winning the game 119-116 in OT. Lol. The next game, I blew out a top 5 Michigan St. team by 30 but escaped by the skin of my teeth vs. SIU. Yeah, makes sense. Lol ! And sometimes I can make it through it and sometimes I can't and it costs me an undefeated season.

I am currently playing SNES and Genesis sports games. If you want to play online buy a newer system. If you're off line XBox 360 is a cheap choice, and the games are dirt cheap. I always say 3-4 years into the system the sports games peak. So Madden 09 or 10. NBA 2k10. Tiger Woods 09, NHL 2010. The EA sports games. There is a decent college game for EA, March Madness 09, but the NBA games are better. You can't play college basketball on the new systems due to the lawsuit.

I have the Genesis classic which is sweet. I also have a regular Genesis. Madden and RBI baseball. I don't have a PS3 or 4 but I've heard The Show is awesome.

I was actually playing Super Breakout on Atari yesterday. I find it relaxing. And Pitfall, which is tense.

Yeah, if you're absolutely determined to get a console, I'd go with one of the older ones mentioned above. I have a 360 just so I can play a dynasty on NCAA14 whenever. That's the only way I can play it. The newer systems are really cool and a lot of fun; however, there's just not a lot that isn't better on PC as far as gaming goes. I mean, if you ever get bored and wanna try something like an MMORPG, it's gonna run 10x better on PC in most cases. At least that's been my experience and I have an XBOX One S.
