Yeah, probably not lol. I mainly play RPGs and shooters but I’m getting into strategy games like Civ and Total War. What about you?
Lately been playing a little 2K because I picked it up for $20. My group has been playing Deadside, the new early access survival shooter that just came out as well... Personally I’m into a huge variety of games. I love Civ and Total War, but I’m still sticking to Civ 5 because I haven’t bought any of the DLC for 6 yet lol

PS4. One of the most addicting games for me is Friday The 13th : The Game. It's so underrated and if the Friday The 13th lawsuit didn't happen, that game would have been huge. There's no DLC for it now because of the ongoing lawsuit, there's some toxic players who cheat and team up with their buddy who's playing as Jason but that game is fun as hell overall..very addicting. I also play GTA 5, Dead By Daylight, Madden 20, Call Of Duty games, etc on the PS4...I still play NCAA Football 14 and March Madness 2010 on PS3 as well. As for other forms of entertainment, I have Youtube, Netflix, Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu on my PS4 and they all work fine for me.

love DBD and Friday the 13th.

get an old school gaming fire stick and play some the original Tecmo Bowl !
Best game ever. Each team had like 4 plays, lol.
-Bo Jackson was unstoppable for the Raiders
-The cross route with Jerry Rice was as well
-The Bears kicker could make a 55 yarder

It was awesome

I have a PS4 and broke it back out during Covid. Playing NCAA 14 and Tiger Woods 15. Waiting to order Golden Tee for my basement but the place is closed due to Covid at the moment. Will be a nice addition. I have a UK arcade tabletop with over 1200 games loaded on there. Actually too many games to play them all but not complaining.

Thanks for the info guys. I have no idea where the sega ended up. I do still have a Super Nintendo mainly for Mario and a wii fit from 2008 which we never use. On the bright side anything I get now will seem pretty good. Thanks again.

I’m kind of envious of you, I’ve upgraded consoles every chance I could so the difference in graphics has gotten smaller and smaller your in for a big surprise once you choose your next console.

There you go. Back in the late 70s, when Mojo was a wee lad and had to walk uphill in every direction, this is what we had. And we were glad to have it to! Excuse me, there’s a cloud I need to go yell at.....

I've had every version of both systems up to the Xbox One and I stopped at the PS3. PS4 didn't really offer anything different (besides a couple of exclusives) to get me to buy it with both systems having blu-ray. I say Xbox One between all of those.

PS controllers sucked in comparison to them (haven't tried the PS4 controllers yet though). They were always to small and made my hands hurt and my hands aren't that big. Plus Xbox Live was better in my opinion and the party chat was way better (unless PSN made huge changes since I had a PS3).

If you want a system for strictly gaming then PS4 is the way to go. I if you want a system that is good for gaming and for apps like ESPN, Netflix, and streaming sports on the internet then Xbox One is the way to go. PS4’s internet browser is about as useful as a **** flavored lollipop, so if you don’t have cable and stream all your sports Xbox is crucial. I have both systems and I love them both.
I would’ve agreed with you at the launch of Xbox one and ps4. However with the new Xbox game pass, Xbox is the ultimate gaming platform, IF you don’t mind losing out of sony’s exclusives. Microsoft also unveiled their newest consumer friendly practice, smart delivery. Basically all games you buy for Xbox one will be granted a free upgrade download if you ever decide to upgrade to the series when it releases. The only developer who has not agreed is EA which will have its less consumer friendly version where you have to buy the title and upgrade your hardware before a certain date.

Microsoft I feel deserves a lot of credit. The more Sony tries to divide the gaming community, Microsoft keeps pushing to bring it together. Albeit probably because they have crap exclusives minus halo and gears but it’s still the more consumer friendly company of the two.

if you want the game to look and run at its best right now, get the Xbox One X. You’ll need a 4K tv to take full advantage. If you can wait, I would advise waiting for the Series X (or PS5 if you really like their exclusives) because they’re releasing late this year (covid nad mass panic may delay them to early next year). Those consoles have had most of if not all their specs released and their basically PCs.

I’ve been a gamer since the N64, game boy color, PS1 days (born 91). So this topic is something near and dear.

Didn't know they made ncaa 14 for ps4. Assume u meant ps3? I only ask because I love that game. They stop it a year before ps4 and a year before they would have implemented 4 team playoff into game.

No doubt that Xbox has definitely cleaned up, but wow you're overselling their efforts big time.

While game pass is certainly a gem, their lack of first-party titles is and has been a thorn in its successful side for quite a while. Give them credit for making Xbox Live as well for Xbox 360 (and also give them no credit for poor architecture that took a lawsuit to bring to light -- RRoD), but don't go beyond that.

The Xbox One X is an absolute waste of money. It has a poor 4K drive inside of it that requires you to download additional software to play it (dumb stuff), its graphical upgrade is marginal at best because no one has really stretched out that hardware because no developer is interested in doing it, and it was old before it was new. The $499 price tag and the honor of being the fourth system from Microsoft in a single generation is just absolutely disgusting.

Phil Spencer might right that ship with the Xbox Series X, but from what I'm hearing from developers the PS5 is far and away the easiest and most powerful system right now.

I wouldn't spend a dime on Microsoft unless you want to be bored and disappointed. There's just too much replication when it comes to third-party software and PlayStation. The best buy is a company that has a strong first-party line-up, which is Sony and Nintendo.

Don't mean to get on a soapbox with the above, but you completely oversold Microsoft.

I addressed both of those points in my comment. I stream sports from Xbox. And you are correct PS4 has those apps but they run like **** and PS4’s internet browser is beyond useless.

I get it, that's why I use my phone or a computer.

And those apps don't run like ****. lol Not at all. I own both systems, btw. One is currently collecting dust, can you guess which one?

as far as power, tech ps5 and series x are neck and neck with every source I’ve seen saying the series x has a slight edge in every technical department minus the ssd which sony is future proofing their newest PlayStation with (it’s not going to be used for a while).

I did praise Sony for their exclusives, did you miss it? Theirs are superior, however, as someone who only games online with friends, their single player exclusives don’t interest me. Every multiplier game, wether PvP or PvE, is cross platform.

I have the one x and never had to download additional software to use its 4K drive. Maybe when they initially released that was the case (I got mine Black Friday last year). One X is now $299 at bestbuy, but I agree they were too expensive at release which is why I waited for a sale.

Microsoft deserves their praise for consumer friendly practices. If you want to be a Sony fanboy and not your recognize your sides weaknesses that’s on you. I recognized Microsoft’s (a lack of first part exclusives). Smart delivery (ensuring you don’t buy the same game twice, regardless of when you upgrade) and game pass far and away make them the more consumer friendly company.

The op is playing sports games, and as I said, the Xbox one X is best system to play those on right now. But I did advise him to wait for the new consoles, and advised him to choose whichever he prefers which for most up of us is the console our friends are on.

On paper, absolutely they are neck and neck, but how the PS5 architecture works and how that SSD functions makes it light years ahead of the Xbox Series X. That presentation by Cerny was unreal and it is a VERY developer friendly system, which bodes well for it.

As for Sony fanboy? Yikes. I’m sorry you have to see it that way because that is not the case. If it makes it easier for you, then go with it, but I’m just telling it like it is, man. I just know a good bet when I see it. Until MS gets its head out of its caboose and focuses on first-party beyond Halo, Forza, and GoW, they are going to have a tough time convincing people they are the way to go.

A powerful system that has no first-party games is just a powerful system no one gets to see in action.

Nothing I’ve seen about the ps5 makes it “light years ahead.” To each their own.

Then you clearly didn't understand the PS5 conference.

But OOOoookkkay. "To each their own." lol
Show where a third party says PS5 is light years ahead of the series X.

Every third party review I’ve seen on YouTube of both console specs says the Series X is more powerful. Albeit slightly. The only thing the PS5 does better is the SSD which won’t be fully utilized for a while, if at all.

Google it. You can do that.

And the specs are the same on paper (already stated), but decipher Cerny's presentation if you can muster it. It's crystal clear if you're tech-savvy. Otherwise, we get that you love and are devoted to Xbox. That's fine. You can be a fan of it and you're within your rights because you stuck with them for years, but don't make facts into false because you can't let go that customized hardware that was specifically made to make developer's lives better is probably going to outperform Xbox's new system. The PS5 will be the dominant hardware at launch and probably throughout the generation.

Also, tell me about the gameplay MS showed at their 'gameplay event' and how great that was because showing gameplay at a gameplay event is a requirement when you call it a 'gameplay event'. That must instill a shitload of confidence in you.

No argument that Microsoft has lacked first party this gen, but you do need to realize that’s why they have now bought more studios bringing them to a total of 15 and this July I expect we will see the progress all these new studios have made this gen. And all will be games on game pass which is right now the best deal in gaming.

And as far as the power of the two consoles everything I read and seen is the series X is more powerful and the PlayStation is more faster. The two consoles aren’t going to be that different from each other and no way one is going to be “light years” ahead of the other.
