It's starting to feel like Napster/music sharing in the early 2000's. Napster got shutdown and we went to Limewire and others to keep sharing music.

We all had a million shared MP3's and a handful of unlucky bastards got sued. I remember kids having to settle out of court with the RIAA. Some people still hold a grudge against Metallica.

Anyway. When **** starts getting shutdown and the shitstirrers are running for other forums. I'm out. I don't want to be made an example of by some ******** Hedge Funder that got his face ripped off. Just the word lawsuit makes me quiver....

But I am super stoked for anyone that made money on this... Those short selling specialists release ******** reports that intentionally try to hurt businesses and investors I hope they bleed to death on this deal.

ETA. I'm now 100% certain that there is big money on the buy side of GME helping retail investors to destroy hedge funds that are short. These are big buys this morning and damn near every retail platform is sell only. New Silicon Valley money sticking it to Old Wall money?

If your retirement is invested in anything that is volatile enough to be affected long term by this, again it’s on you.

How does what’s happening with game stop affect the average person not involved in this LONG TERM.

There are “hard working” people jumping on that band wagon too. Are they less at fault than anyone else?

Correct. Does that make the wrong? Or bad?

Rich people are doing it. Middle class people are doing it? Lower middle class.

My point in all of this is you don’t have to be wealthy to be greedy.

Nope, not going down this path further. I've said my peace and piece. You disagree with the scenarios and examples provided- ok then.

Wall Street, Big Tech, Big Media, and the Big Government they have in their pocket aren’t going to allow the peasants to rise up against the billionaire class like this, despite it being legal. They’ll stop this in its tracks.

Fox News said the SEC may halt trading of GameStop tomorrow. Those who held onto may lose their *** tomorrow. Has that ever happened? Also Congress may step in.

Umm, hey Mr. TNT, you know how we pulled all of the early Q2 sales into the books in Q1 to hit our numbers? You're behind on your Q2 numbers already so you'll need to do 150% of your quota this quarter. That is unless this quarter looks bad and we rush to ship Q3 orders early and book them in Q2...

This was like an awesome heater on a craps table and then the pit boss swapped out the dice with "house" dice. Hopefully lots of the regular folks walked away from the table at that point. Sadly some poor suckers bet the farm...

I sold 20% of my original stake when it was up at meme levels. I still have most of the shares I purchased in the game, but I'm on house money now.

Seems like its at the peak of the right testicle now. Which may be the last good chance to cut losses.

Some shady **** is being pulled by the old money.

They changed the rules for the average Joe, total BS.

For year's Hedge Funds and Big Money did what they wanted, and when the tabled are turned on them, they fix the game in their favor.
Luckily, I was able to sell early this morning and still take some nice gains, but others may not be so lucky.

I thought we had free markets here, this is total BS.
I told my trading buddies that I will go back to gambling on basketball and football, at least I will get paid if I win.

It’s more than just GameStop that’s blocked. It’s the 5-6 of the most popular stocks being pushed by WSB currently.

Reminds me of a kid I used to play Nintendo with that was good at every game, until we played Tecmo Bowl. Played as the Raiders/with Bo Jackson and start running all over his ***. Until he throws the controller and unplugs the Nintendo.

Sorry you didn’t know about Bo Jackson. But in the real world, just because you’re losing doesn’t mean you get to just shut it down or change the rules.

This will 100% change the rules in the future. I can’t wait to watch the movie.

Pretty similar except this time the kid is going to get his parents and possibly some other adults to intervene to stop the game rather than just quitting.

I think the hedge funds shorted the stocks for today to try to get their monry back and got Robinhood and TDameritrade to agree to help, but changing the trading rules.

BS

I’m not paying. On the being locked out there was an update several months back and I think it said if you didn’t update in a certain number of days you would be locked out.

Well, I have been absent from this conversation

Because its been freaking nuts in my world this week.

But I was able to close my position at $432 a share this am. Truly an accidental millionaire. I had no idea what was going on with Reddit until very late. I bought in November thinking they would have a nice Christmas season with the Xbox and the PS5 both coming out. After the $600 stimulus was announced, I held for a little longer thinking that they would have another nice push when inventory returned. Then all this Reddit crap happened.

My use of quotations there was for multiple reasons.
1 Msglfer probably has an idea rhat some people work hard and some don’t based on careers.
2 any work done whether hard or not would suck if you lost the “rewards” of said work
3 if you really value your money (hard work would suggest you do or should), don’t be dumb enough to put needed retirement money into speculative positions

To be clear, I think hedge funds shorting positions to manipulate the market in a collaborative or collusive type way is bad.

But I equally think people investing in gme and getting upset when they lose on speculation is bad too.

Both are greedy.
