OT: Favorite TV Theme Songs

[Ronnie_B]

Being a huge Columbo fan the one for "NBC Sunday Mystery Movie" is mine. Some things strike fond memories of younger days and this one does it every time:

[RULoyal]

[hoquat63]

Welcome Back Kotter

[RUPete]

There were so many…the Jeffersons, MASH (although younger folks found it depressing), the bass line for Barney Miller, Hill Street Blues, Law and Order, Honeymooners… I’ll stop now.

[mdk02]

Johnny Rivers "Secret Agent Man". From the '60's with Patrick McGoohan.

[RUPete]

Welcome Back Kotter

John Sebastian. My parents always loved the opening sequence because they grew up in Brooklyn.

The Spoonful was one of my favorite groups back in the day. They played the Barn my frosh year, but I missed it.
Did get to see Sebastian do a free concert on LBI about 5 years ago.

Friends theme song, by the Rembrandts. Always liked the Sopranos, MASH and Mary Tyler Moore theme songs, too, with the MTM theme song being the best punk cover of a TV show theme song ever, IMO, by Husker Du.

[William J. Leggett]

[RW90]

Two more:
Munsters
Cheers

[WasatRutgers]

Batman

[William J. Leggett]

[RU from Jersey_rivals]

F Troop.

[RU848789]

Batman

When I was about 5 years old, I used to run around our entire house with a towel as my cape singing that theme song, much to the amusement of my parents and older siblings.

[William J. Leggett]

[Steveriknight]

Happy Days

But do you know the words to the M*A*S*H theme song? The actual title is "Suicide is Painless"

Every. Damn. Word.

[SouthJerseyRU]

Look I'm old and remember these as well, but you guys are missing the best theme and most watchable opening credits in the past 20 years.

Mary Tyler Moore, Hill St Blues and 5-0 great. But no Rockford Files or Magnum PI?
