It was when the guy first pulls into the parking lot. Again, I could be wrong and it just looked like it. Guess we’ll see in Season 4.

Plus the line about wanting to get rid of the car and upgrading to "muscle" seemed like it could be indicating something

Consensus opinion on this board is spot on. Great entertainment, horrible writing.

The part where Johnny has an appointment to see his son in a correctional facility but he blows it off because Miguel's abuela asked him to stay and pray? Come on, man! You can't come up with a more realistic way to generate conflict? There's no way anybody, let alone Johnny, would do that.

Nostalgia is what carries the show. The storylines and writing is typical Netflix production quality - piss poor. But like everyone else I still binged it.

Yeah, First season of Bloodline was great because it was produced by Sony Studios and not Netflix. Then, as I recall, Netflix renewed and got involved with production and that’s how you ended up with the steady decline culminating in the season 3 abomination. Netflix Originals Studios is a joke.

Anyone watch Warrior on HBO Max? It was recommended to me as an adult version of Cobra Kai and I’m hooked. Not sure how I never heard of it before. Binged Season 1. Starting Season 2.

I just got done with the 3rd season of cobra Kai. I can’t say it was binge worthy. I think the first 2 seasons were a little better. The story line was all over the place but I loved hearing the 80s music!
I thought the best recent series was the Queens Gambit. Definitely worth a watch.

Cobra Kai production quality has been in steady decline since Netflix grabbed it from YouTube. Unfortunately, Netflix has a habit of buying quality shows from other production studios and then takes them in-house with much smaller budgets. Amazon Studios and HBO Max produce much higher quality originals. Cobra Kai is still riding the wave of Season 1, which was really well done. With that said, Season 3 is entertaining.

The third year imo.
Is so fake, so hokie, so ridiculous, that it’s must see TV
Sam also gained at least 20 pounds.

You are spot on. Anyone who is an original Karate Kid fan should appreciate the tie ins and revivals of past characters. The storylines, predictability, bad acting and non-realistic scenarios? Well, what can I say? C'mon, we saw Dee Snyder! Performing! It is must see TV. And of course Sam gained weight Zap. She was emotionally scarred and stopped training, so I would expect her to gain a few. That might be the most realistic ( and probably unintended) part of the show!

Just finished Queens Gambit a few days ago...really liked it and thought the ending with the music, outfit, setting was perfect.

No offense, but I can’t figure out the appeal of Queens Gambit - I kept falling asleep in the first few episodes. Strikes me as the typical middle-of-the-road Netflix series. It received OK reviews. Entertainment Weekly rated it a “B”. Rolling Stone gave it 3 out of 5 stars. It seems that Netflix has such a grip on viewers that we’ll watch almost anything they put on the platform regardless of whether it’s good or bad. Cobra Kai is a perfect example - if you compare Season 1 to Season 3 it’s a huge letdown. Same with Ozark. Although don’t get me wrong I watched both and they were definitely entertaining. But Netflix production quality is really poor compared to shows on other platforms like HBO Max and Amazon.

No offense taken everyone has different tastes. QG did start off slow but I thought it got better as it moved along and I’m not one who has issue with nice hokey endings lol. I like them.

Cobra Kai...I liked the first two seasons and take it for what it is...a funny corny show that stirs up nostalgia. I can be slow getting through these shows so still haven’t seen season 3 yet. Hopefully it lives up to those simple expectations I have but shows sometimes lose their mojo as time goes on, although for some the reverse can be true too.

December 2021 is what the Mrs. tells me is the tentative release date for Cobra Kai season 4 . So I’ll go with that since she’s usually right on most things .

Season 4 was awesome!!!!! Great story, great characters, and plenty of twists and turns that made sense.

Season 5 is already filmed, so perhaps it will be out earlier than normal (i.e., before the end of 2022).
My family binged it this week. Corny, but we love it.

My kid are bouncing back and forth on getting a Cobra Kai or Eagle Fang t-shirt. I think the older wants Eagle Fang. The younger wants both, lol.

I also paused one of the episodes to show a few Slaughter videos on the TV. Wife recalled them after hearing Up All Night. She was really impressed with the concert version of Fly To The Angels, especially the singer (Mark Slaughter). I told her these guys were my generation - they can all perform well live, even semi lame hair bands. We all started our 10k hours in our rooms by ourselves, then honed it with others in a band practicing and playing for our friends. Not sure kids do this anymore.

I love going episode to episode wondering who I am going to change my mind about. As a parent and a teacher I love how it proves that you can’t judge a book by its cover. So many great back stories. Told myself I would not binge it but already halfway thru season 4

Yea
The don’t binge rule goes out the window when Netflix cues up the next episode before you can reach the remote

+1
Love the story and character development! Sadly, this is missing in most current shows.

Corny as hell but super entertaining! I’m wondering if they are introducing the middle school characters now because they realize all the original characters are starting to look like they belong in college. I couldn’t believe how old Miguel looked.

Has to be. I don’t even remember his son before this season. Now he is in MS but looks like he should be in HS.

Only watched ep 4:1 so far and it doesn’t look like it’s lost anything. It’s suppose to be cheesy corny nostalgic fun, not award winning tv and it hits the mark. They know it too and make fun of themselves which makes it even better.
