Sanford as OC and Simon promoted to co-OC.

SanfordJr has a good resume .
Didn't do a bang up job as WKU's HC.
But being OC at Boise St &Notre Dame
before that shows he is respected
Was Utah St's OC in 2019 , but that team's
offense under him didn't seem to be one that would make him a big time OC candidate and why took co-OC position for the Golden Gophers.
He's only 37 and should continue rising until he gets another HC opportunity.
Understand Samford Jr will be doing the play-calling.
Could be PJ don't expect him to be there long and having him help groom Simon to fully take over as the OC after he leaves.

I think a good hire by Diaz after Enos who I wasn’t a fan of from the start.

Napier also turned down Miss State he just signed extension a day or so ago.

Miss St isn't that desirable of a job , in my opinion (I could be wrong about that), and up and coming G-5 coaches might think twice before taking it.
Can't say for sure, but P-5 OCs and DCs with little southern exposure might shy away
looking at how Moorhead didn't seem to fit there.
Someone like Todd Grantham might be a better fit than anyone the Miss St fans consider a Yankee might be.

Tony Elliott might be a good option for Mississippi State .
Clemson's NC hunt might be keeping the courtship in neutral until after the game.

I liked Napier but since he's withdrawn I'd like Clark or Fritz after that. Elliott is a good name too but haven't seen his name linked to the job anywhere.

Clark might be fully entrenched in the UAB program.
He saved it from oblivion and might feel it's his baby.
I'm Clark he knows he's the man of the hour, day -year to Blazer fans and might not want to go anywhere

Willie Fritz is getting up there in age, so he might feel Miss St might be his best and maybe last chance to go Big Time at a P-5 program.
He did a great job at Tulane, but might not be a top of the list candidate . Even though the Green Wave had been Rutgers Shea/Ash bad before he got there. Willie might be passed over for a young ( so called) up and coming stud .

Elliott might seem to be ignored by Miss St , but due to Clemson's NC chances and the other co-OC Scott leaving, everything is being done behind the scenes by 3rd parties in order not to disrupt the Clemson players preparation ( under him) for the NC game against LSU.
But he might feel he could do better than the Bulldogs with one more year at Clemson and my scenario is totally wrong
( how's that for covering my butt if it comes out there wasn't any chance that Miss St would have a shot at him. ) :YesNo

I was also wondering if he might land at Washington or Boise now that Garrett has been fired officially and looks like McCarthy will get the job.

Like Gleeson for Schiano, Cignetti would seem to be a more critical hire for Hafley than the DC role given his own experience. Certainly someone he is familiar with.

As I mentioned in the other thread not a fan of that hire....glad he's there and not here. I don't like those pro style types usually....regardless of whether they say multiple offense etc...it can work but not the path of least resistance or preferable IMO. It reminds of McNulty here and Enos at Miami.

Between Hafley and Fleck and GS coming back to RU, the former RU assistants are cashing in big time...

From NFL Now: The #Giants had a chance to guarantee they would match the #Panthers money offered to Matt Rhule to get him on the plane to New Jersey. They declined and hired Joe Judge.
------------------------------------
edit:
The New York Giants have requested to speak with and interview former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, but it's not about their previously vacant head coaching spot. The Giants have filled their head coaching vacancy by hiring former New England Patriots wide receivers and special teams assistant coach Joe Judge. The Giants are now bringing in Garrett to interview for their offensive coordinator position under Judge, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.

Don't know if Baylor will go that route but internal promotions can work...ours not withstanding. The 4 playoff teams this year all internal promotions doesn't hurt the cause either.

Did not realize Partridge got the DC job.
Yea posted a separate thread about it cause I thought it may be of interest but not really much response. It's also up above you probably missed them. The post said targeting him as DC and he left so I'm guessing it is as DC. On their site though still listed as assistant for now.

That's what I was remembering, but quite frankly, it is hard enough to keep track of the titles of our own staff. Seems people have gone to initials, so (really hoping for AC-DC, that would rock:cool2:):

GS- HC
SG-OC
??-DC
BF-LB
FB-DB
AH-OL
NC-??
AA-OL
JP-DL
??-ST

Is that right?

So BC has now hired Ohio State's co-DC and assistant strength & conditioning coach to be HC and head S&C coach, respectively. It sure seems like they're trying to build a championship culture up there in Chestnut Hill.
