Always wondered if those guys purge or just fill up the bowl tomorrow
Pretty sure I saw somewhere that they digest it all. The smell of hotdogs emanates from their bodies the next day. Gross.
“Reversal of fortune” is automatic DQ. But don’t know how long you actually have to keep them down for it to count

Glad this thread is back! Good job chestnut ! I always say the dog and bun need to be eaten together in this competition. Hopefully; they change the rules one day
I tried explaining the event to my kids 9 and 7, and it’s not like he sat and ate 74 hotdogs and buns the way we eat them. He’s relaxing his throat muscles and basically shoving the food directly into his stomach (check out YouTube clips of people who explain how to fast chug a pint of beer).

I agree totally. Been saying it for years. The hot dogs should be eaten on the bun in the competition. Obviously the contest does not agree. LOL.

Best of Luck,

I know the guys who run this competitive eating organization. Hysterically funny guys, especially George, the announcer. Surprised he doesn't get other announcing work, the guy just kills it every time out.

They all force themselves to throw up immediately after the event. No way anyone wants to digest 74 hot dogs. Train their stomachs to hold the capacity by pouring gallons of water into it, regularly and then throw that up.
Sounds super healthy

Joey Chestnut Eating GIF by ESPN

All i remember was the years that Kobayashi and Chestnut were going back and forth. Not that i cared, since unless you are eating the hotdog with toppings, i didn't see the point. but it seems after Kobayashi stopped participating, the whole eating contest seemed to die down. At least that is how it felt to me.

I think it's more than Chestnut is so far ahead of everyone at this point (even Kobayashi gave up trying).
