Name the five players who share the record for most games with a hit in one season. It's 135 games

Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs, Pete Rose, Derek Jeter, Ichiro? That's my quick guess with no Googling..

I googled the answer because I was curious. I won't give it away, but it is noteworthy that DiMaggio is NOT on the list despite hitting safely in 72 out of 73 games in 1941, For the balance of the season, he would have only needed 63 hits spread over 82 games but didn't get it done.

I have to admit, I was surprised by one of the guys on the list. The other four weren't necessarily easy guesses, but if you know baseball history, they made sense.

Looked up answer. Surprised Musial is not on it. Hit over .300 for 16 straight yrs, & played a lot of games each season, most of them in 154 game season.

DiMaggio only played in 139 games in 1941.

I did the same. Interesting question, not sure there would be a way to try and figure out the answer without just knowing it. Seems like it would be a lucky guess.

The guy who surprised me the most was, as a Yankees fan, was Jeter.
People were making a big deal about the 154 games season. Look at the hits before the change. I'm surprised that anyone was thinking the downside of less games.

Jeter was also the guy that surprised me the most. The others didn't surprise me at all.

Sorry I wasn't around to post the answers but I see someone did. Hornsby, Klein, Boggs, Jeter, Ichiro are the five.

How about this one. What is the lowest number not retired by any team? Can also be phrased as lowest number available on all 30 clubs
