Done at $20? I'll take $600 credit risk on you.

Nah, $20 bucks isn’t worth the effort of collecting. Hit up your fan bois like Brick Tamland here. Maybe you guys can collectively get the balls to play.

Don’t know and never said they weren’t big draws. Just like the Stones. People love nostalgia, especially the older you get.

There is a senior tour for a reason. They just aren’t the best golfers anymore.

I don’t hate Tiger, though he is bad person. I’m just spitting the truth and am here to collect my money.

If he starts playing a little better and enters more of those very low grade tournaments, I think he can actually win one, as I said.

not a big Stones fan, but a terrible analogy.

musicians can usually perform better in their 60s than they could in in their 20s. (maybe not drummers so much, just due to the endurance factor, but they still have all their skills).

guitar players often just keep getting better with age.

old bands might not look so great on stage, but they can usually out perform younger bands, and have a much better catalog.

as for Tiger, looks like he's still capable of winning even in the best fields, (which up till this yr i never would have guessed would be the case again).

Tiger hasn't put 4 rounds together yet this yr, but i no longer think he can't win a big tourney again.

as for The Open, Norman and Watson made serious runs in their late 50s and 60s.

Open courses are quirky enough anything can happen.

Disagree. Musicians don’t age well. It’s why they have to continually add people to make their sound more rich. Guitarists lose dexterity in their hands. Singers lose their vocal range. See Led Zepplin. Plant can’t hit those notes anymore, so he changed his music completely as a solo act.

Plant is an extreme case.

as for guitarist, Gilmore, Clapton, Knopfler, and others, can still play with anyone, and still better than all but the elite younger players who still can't best them.

Bonamassa will still be a great performer thru his 60s health willing.

Like Obama you have a lying, revisionist history. He’s competitive...when the alphas aren’t playing.

Take my bet then. I dare you.

I'm lying by showing your quotes which show you were wrong. Is that really the argument you want to go with? Perhaps you are retarded.

Why would I take your stupid bet, which favors you greatly? If he's a top 60-70 player now, I'll bet you, even up, a decent sum that he'll finish in the top 60. Actually, I'm confident enough that he's better than that that'll even give you an edge - I'll bet you, even up, that finishes in the top 50. Ready to put your money where your mouth is?

We agree about 110% on this one. Most musical acts suffer pretty badly after about 60 or so. Having seen the Stones in 1979, only a few years after their peak, I can't imagine paying top dollar to see them now. No interest. If you'd just stop posting about politics and Tiger, we'd get along so well.

Golfers don't add people and still contend bad analogy.

Lol, you have proven wrong the whole way. Again, he isn’t competing. You said he was back. He isn’t. The moment the big boys show, he an also ran.

Well, you're the only one saying I'm wrong and everyone else is saying you're wrong so there's that. That and the fact that you're too big of a ***** to make an even bet.

This thread is getting pathetic. The fan boi’s say Tiger will be Top 5 player again, but still won’t make the bet. They also state his is ahead of schedule.

I think you are wrong as well. All the fan boi’s talk smack, say Tiger is back, but then fail to bet to back up their claims. I like Tiger and he has done some good things, but he still chokes when it matters. If he’s back and you said he will be Top 5 again, now is the time. He’s playing well and it’s a major. This week matters to Tiger. No better time to back up your claims.

Back it up? I offered a bet but no takers. I even said he would win.

There are 9 golfers ahead of Woods in the odds to win The Open. Not sure why anyone would give the bet for him to be in the Top 5. Should be Top 10.

https://www.cbssports.com/golf/news...cks-by-same-model-that-predicted-the-masters/
And let's face it , he is way overrated at this point. Still think he's on his way up and interested on how far he can climb. It's pathetic to call people fan bois and pound your chest "bet me" on an anonymous message board.

I never said he was "back" and I'm no fan boi (I'm not even a Tiger fan, but I know how good he was and what a competitor he is) - I said he would eventually be back in the top 5 if he stayed healthy, but it's only been 15 tournaments, after 4+ years essentially out of the game with horrible physical problems. To think he'd be back in the top 5 already was/is unrealistic, but he's moving in that direction. I'd say he's probably top 25-30 right now (the ranking of 67 is skewed).

I hope this thread gets better after they tee off on thurs am.

Lots of bloviating on both sides imo.

Looks like a dry course without much wind. If so it will make it interesting to see an Open on the coast of Scotland under those conditions. But am and pm wind conditions may be quite different each day.

When I get up for my bathroom break tonite I’m sure to tune in for the start. Carnoustie looks like a great venue. And less than an hour from St Andrews. Potential Road trip for 2019 as university is on break in the Summer and flats are cheap to rent there. One of my buds did it last Summer and played the old course a few times in one week.

Please stop with the bets. You either don’t know how to bet or are too scared to make a bet. Every bet you are proposing is off market. Just enjoy the golf and talk the smack.

I'm not betting for $20. Sorry. It's a waste of time. Let me know when you are ready to make real bets along the way here.

Offer still stands though. $250, 25-1 odds. You in?

Sure would. But they don't really believe. Well, they believe a little. Like $20 worth of belief.
But he's the most marketable player. I guess that matters more than wins.

They will be kicking themselves if he is in the Top 5 by the end of round 2.

They are non believers. Their fan boi status just won't let them say it. But the fact they won't wager along the way tells us everything.

At least I have the never will win a major bet still out there, even though the numbers aren't exciting.

Why would anyone wager with you under your rules? You (and I) said he would never win a major. I went further and said he wouldn't win on the PGA tour. But you are the ***** on here. Talk smack but never back it up. Im the only one that made a bet on here that Tiger wouldn't win a major or another PGA tournament. You keep coming up with excuses. Man up and take the bet or just shut up. There is nothing to like about a broken record.

You just not have read through the thread m. J offered to make a wager. I agreed to on his terms only at a higher amount. It’s a man move. The guy who didn’t accept was him. And you didn’t either so pipe down. The offer is out there for you too. But you won’t take it. Weak as the other two.

Again why would I make a bet when I don't think Tiger will win any tournament let alone a major. Did you read my post?? Ypu are completely off the rails.

Tiger's -1 on the 15th.

DJ will not make the cut.

Phil is -3 for today's round after 5 holes. Get's to the Par 5 where a lot of players are making a birdie and pulls his drive where it appears to be in the rough on a different hole lol.

So Cali - you still have a chance to make a bet. And since Tiger already made the cut, I'll be generous and bet you, straight up, that Tiger finishes in the top 40 (instead of the top 60, as originally proposed above). $250 seems to be your number - loser donates to the R build fund. Are you man enough to put your money where your mouth is?

I'll put up the $250 each to shut up.
