I'm at top 40 and you're at top 10 - let's split the difference and say top 25 and you have a bet. That’s not generous at all considering where he sits. I offered top 5. I’ll be generous and now say top 10. $250. You in?

Thanks, we needed that. I think there was even a double dare in there. Are you two serious? I cannot believe a grown man just referred to his own weak move as "like a boss." You're both embarrassing yourselves. It was entertaining for a while. Now it's sad.
I'll put up the $250 each to shut up.
But still no bet [eyeroll]Thanks, we needed that. I think there was even a double dare in there.
Numbers counter is fair. Balls in Cali's court. But still no bet [eyeroll]
Tiger sits at 29th right now and you offered a bet where he finishes in the Top 40? What a joke. Now you offered to bet that he finishes in the top 25, way to go out on a limb.So Cali - you still have a chance to make a bet. And since Tiger already made the cut, I'll be generous and bet you, straight up, that Tiger finishes in the top 40 (instead of the top 60, as originally proposed above). $250 seems to be your number - loser donates to the R build fund. Are you man enough to put your money where your mouth is?
Why would someone go "out on a limb" for a bet. Weak.Tiger sits at 29th right now and you offered a bet where he finishes in the Top 40? What a joke. Now you offered to bet that he finishes in the top 25, way to go out on a limb.
Agree 100% . Calls people out for not betting and yet he hasn't laid a penny on here so far. P-word for catNumbers counter is fair. Balls in Cali's court.
That’s so brave of you to make that bet when he’s in 29th right now. You say he’s a Top 5 players. Be realistic. So Cali - you still have a chance to make a bet. That is BS. Numbers (as well as many others here) says Tiger is a Top 5 player. Tiger is in 29th place and he wants a bet for Top 40? That is a p*ssy move. Cali make the correct bet for Top 10. I’m just gonna donate to RUMen’s lacrosse and Football now because all you Tiger boi’s are chicken sh*t. I wouldn’t trust any of you to man up and pay anyway.Numbers counter is fair. Balls in Cali's court.

He's actually tied for 32nd with 17 other players, so, effectively, he's in 40th place, when one averages places 32 to 49. So offering 25 is 15 places away from where he really is and 10th is also 15 places from 25th. Again, seems generally fair to me to offer a spot in the middle between 40th and 10th.Tiger sits at 29th right now and you offered a bet where he finishes in the Top 40? What a joke. Now you offered to bet that he finishes in the top 25, way to go out on a limb.
My post wasn't just directed at you. I know you said you are not a Tiger fan. I actually like Tiger but think he's done. I just can't believe people here can't make a realistic bet. I know people like to prod Cali, but come on people. You truly have a reading comprehension problem. I've never said he was top 5 now - I said he'd eventually be top 5 if he stays healthy and just a few posts ago I said that while I think he's misranked in the 60s I thought he was more like "top 25-30 right now." So a bet of finishing top 25 in the Open, when I was proposing 40 and Cali was proposing 10 seems fair to me. I've also said numerous times I'm not a Tiger fan, yet you keep calling me a "Tiger boi." No idea why.
He thinks Tiger is a top 25 player right now and he is currently 29th and he offered 40th?Why would someone go "out on a limb" for a bet. Weak.
He isnt misranked. Golf rankings are based on a 2 year span. He was ranked in the top 50 for so long after he was hurt and missed golf for almost 2 years so it evens out.You truly have a reading comprehension problem. You must be watching the replay. Check today's results. He's T29. He's just as close to T18.He's actually tied for 32nd with 17 other players, so, effectively, he's in 40th place, when one averages places 32 to 49. Latest offer is 25? Its fair. I understand if you may have a fued with #'s, but facts are facts. He thinks Tiger is a top 25 player right now and he is currently 29th and he offered 40th?
As for you:

Have no feud and if you look at what I quoted he offered 40. That was a joke. He also went through this whole diatribe on 32nd and 49th...and yet Tiger is T29th. LOLLatest offer is 25? Its fair. I understand if you may have a fued with #'s, but facts are facts.
Please find me the "fan boi" poster who said Tiger is a top 5 player right now. If you look back far enough you might be able to find him. We'll blame that guy.Have no feud and if you look at what I quoted he offered 40. That was a joke. He also went through this whole diatribe on 32nd and 49th...and yet Tiger is T29th. LOL
Yeah. Find me the fan boi post that said Tiger is a Top 5 player right now. No one said he is a Top 5 right now, but he will be they say. Yet they won’t bet. Ok, you seem to be heavily invested in this. Just please stop posting the same thing over and over. That's called hijacking a thread. You can probably find betting action elsewhere, but will need to stick to realistic terms.Yeah. Find me the fan boi post that said Tiger is a Top 5 player right now. This is the one and only bet on this thread which is now 9 months old. @jtung230 and myself are the only men on this thread to make a bet. @Caliknight doesnt have a set.I'll jump in on that! If he does I'm out $100 but it would be worth every penny. Win/win
Missing cuts are a part of rankings. Not saying he's misranked given how the rankings are done - I'm simply saying that I disagree with how the rankings are done. His average finish this year (assuming missed cuts are 100th place) is 35th (missed cuts would have to be about 250th for his rank to be 70th), which is quite a bit better than his ranking of 71st. I think their factors for missed cuts and strength of field are flawed, as I simply feel he's a fair amount better than the 71st best player in golf right now. Just my opinion.
Bottom line is I offered a bet on Tiger finishing in the top 50 before the tournament, for a player ranked 71st, while Cali offered a bet on top 5. Mine seemed the much fairer bet. Now, after two rounds, I've moved from top 50 to top 25 for a player who is tied for 29th with 10 other players (effectively 35th) and Cali only moved to top 10. Top 25 still seems fair to me, especially for a player ranked 71st.Have no feud and if you look at what I quoted he offered 40. That was a joke. IMO, Tiger Woods is the 2nd greatest golfer (after Jack). Current rankings mean nothing. He's still in prime years for today's golfers. Betting Top 50 is not even worth a conversation. Betting a Kevin Na/Jason Duffner type golfer is a better Top 50 bet (after R2 Na was T58 and Duffner T54).Bottom line is I offered a bet on Tiger finishing in the top 50 before the tournament, for a player ranked 71st, while Cali offered a bet on top 5. I have a bet you dolt. I wanted to make the bet J offered, but for more money. He didn’t have a set. I will never make a bet for $20. So if that’s the offer. I’m not interested. It’s meaningless. Make it interesting. This is the one and only bet on this thread which is now 9 months old. @jtung230 and myself are the only men on this thread to make a bet. @Caliknight doesnt have a set.
No you won't. You will make stupid changes so you know they won't bet.Spot on. And that’s definitely a concern. Them not paying. But I was willing to take the risk. Numbers especially seems like the type who would stuff someone.
With Tiger playing well today, I’m sure he will try and offer another bet that he finishes in the top 25 now.
One of these days I will nail him down on a real bet.
The “stupid change” was for more money. That’s it. You don’t have a set either for not taking it. I put it out there for anyone. You guys are the worst. No you won't. You will make stupid changes so you know they won't bet.
Unlike you I already have $100 bet that Tiger won't win a major. The very same you were offered but chickened out on.The “stupid change” was for more money. That’s it. You don’t have a set either for not taking it. I put it out there for anyone. You guys are the worst.

Nobody will argue that he's been one of the top 2 golfers ever. But multiple back surgeries and his health are real issues and at age 42 it's simply taking him some time to get back into the top 5, so IMO, the rankings matter. So, for someone who has missed the cut in 4 of his last 5 majors and is 71st in the world, I don't really think top 50 was an unfair bet before the tournament. And while I think betting top 5 would've simply been stupid, I can't blame people for trying to goad others into dumb bets.IMO, Tiger Woods is the 2nd greatest golfer (after Jack). Tiger with a superb 66 to finish at -5, although he'll likely still be at least 3-4 shots behind the leader at the end of the round, but probably in about 8th-10th place instead of 29th. He'll have a shot on Sunday, unless one of the leaders shoots 64-65.
Also, I'm one of the few people on this board who has actually executed a bet with someone. @Knight Shift and I bet $100 on March snowfall with the loser donating the money to the R B1G Build Fund. I won, but neither one of us questioned whether the other would pay. Because, you know, we're not douchebags.
I was too scared to make that large bet with you. I was scared that you wouldn’t make good on $6,350 If I want to make that bet, I go to my guy for the last 20 years. I don’t make that bet with “Caliknight” on the msg board.Actually, you strike me as a huge dbag. Hence. Y questioning. There are a number of people here I wouldn’t question though, to you point.
And today shows why your bet was ridiculous. You can always tell the people that don’t play/don’t know golf very well.Nobody will argue that he's been one of the top 2 golfers ever. But multiple back surgeries and his health are real issues and at age 42 it's simply taking him some time to get back into the top 5, so IMO, the rankings matter.
