Watching the replay. Hideki had an unreal last 5 holes. He also had one of the worst shanks I’ve ever seen.

I will go through the thread and look. By the way RU#'s is always chirping, you'd think he'd be all over this. But he isn't. He has some company though.

Why would I be "all over" what Hideki did yesterday? The main topic of this thread is Tiger.

Exactly. Jump in the game. How much he never wins another major?
It's a stupid bet. I only bet when I think I'm favored to win. Tiger's health is way too big of a question mark to allow me to bet on him. If I "knew" he was going to be healthy for the next 3-4 years, I'd take that bet, just like Jack would. But I don't. He's certainly exceeded your predictions for him, on this comeback.

So you don't actually believe what you've been saying. Got it.

Actually he didn't exceed anything. My prediction was he would never win a major. He hasn't. I said he might compete in and even win a small tournament. He hasn't won one and has been marginally competitive. If anything, I gave him too much credit.

He's not back. Never was back. And never will be back. +9 as I type, T56. 17 strokes off the lead and well below the cut line.

Tiger is done. Just another guy. Dudes should pay me now.

But unfortunately anytime he is below par for any single round we'll have to see it in headlines all over the internet. Frankly, it's freaking annoying and makes me root against him.

He definitely gets way more pub than his play deserves. On the course, he's actually not relevant anymore other than in a sideshow way.

No, I think I had those number wrong. I believe he was 9 off the lead when posted but would have to go cross reference. His 6 back now so it's irrelevant.

Back in January I talked about the next "Tiger". Joaquin Niemann is just 19 years old and is just 1 shot back right now with 2 holes to go. This is a player you should all start watching.
Edit. Birdies his last now tied for the lied.

Nice try. Not going to take the bait and make a dumb bet. His long-term health is still seriously in question, as he's only been back on tour for a few months, so betting on him winning a major is dumb.

Also, you said, "A 100% healthy Tiger now won't be able to compete consistently on tour any more" and you also said, "A healthy Tiger is a mid tier golfer now. He will make cuts, but not seriously contend. Certainly not over a 4 day period or season." So wrong it's not funny.

He was 1199th in the world rankings before his comeback and he's already up to 83rd and if the rankings were done on just the last few months, he'd be in the top 25, with finishes of 23rd, MC, 12th, 2nd, 5th, 32nd, 55th, and 11th. That's certainly "competing consistently on tour" and he has obviously "seriously contended" with two top-5 finishes.

And he looked great today - he's -5 and tied for 24th - could've easily shot 64 if he putted a little better - it takes time to get it all back, but he's getting closer to that.

Yep. Mid tier golfer. My quote was spot on. Thanks for digging it up.

You can type and link all you want. But you still won’t bet. Weak.

You're such a tool, unable to admit you're wrong even with clear truth right in front of you. Maybe bullets will help.
  • Top 25 for the tourneys he's played in is not "mid tier," so wrong on that count.
  • "won't be able to compete consistently on tour any more" is wildly wrong
  • "He will not seriously contend" is wildly wrong.
Not making dumb bets isn't weak, it's smart. Being one of the few people on this board who has won a major bet ($100 March snowfall bet with knight shift), I think it's my prerogative to tell you to stfu on the bet.

Your very angry. Try and calm down. He isn’t the Tiger of old, which is what the argument was along. And never will be. And that’s been proven to date. The fact that you won’t bet citing injury is very weak. He ain’t injured now and he’s won jack. Exactly as I predicted. Hell, I threw you Tiger fan bios a bone and said he might win some small tournament. He hasn’t even done that.

Let me know when you have the balls to bet. Otherwise all of your posts mean nothing.

Pointing out what a tool you are doesn't mean I'm angry - it means you're (not "your" - you have 3 errors in one paragraph - as I've said mutliple times you truly need some help with your writing skills) a tool.

I'm also not a Tiger fan at all - just someone who knows a helluva lot more about golf than you ever will. We actually agree that Tiger will not be the Tiger of old, but you think he won't be competitive and won't contend, both of which are demonstrably wrong, yet you won't own up to it. I simply find that odd - do you behave like this at work and at home?

I'm also not stupid and I won't allow your childish taunts to goad me into making a stupid bet. To not factor in Tiger's medium to high probability of not remaining healthy and go ahead and make that bet would be dumb. I would, however, consider making a bet on whether Tiger ever wins another tournament, since that's a much greater probability than winning a major, simply based on opportunity. Are you game for that?

Tiger is finally playing again. T49 after the first day, only 7 behind. He’s back baby! And his back is “tight”.

You guys should just pay me now.
Pay now? Lol, you gave me an open ended timeline. I have 20 years, 80 majors. Stupidest bet, ever. Not surprising.

Tiger currently tied for 32nd. Every single shot he plays will be on TV. Love it.

Even Woods himself probably realizes he'll never be the Tiger of old and I don't think that this is what the thread is about. Let Cali start his own thread with his broken-record obnoxious posts.

Ahh, the old grammar argument. Let me tune you in on a little secret. It’s a message board not a term paper. When you go there, you’re admitting you have no argument. Message board rules 101. Let’s take it tournament by tournament. That’s fair. $500 says he won’t win this one.

And you are very angry. It’s weird, but whatever.

Chase - do you have an out in your bet if Tiger has to quit for good due to injury? If not, I have to say, I don't think it's a good bet. Also, does your "major" bet include senior majors (20 years implies it does)? That's not nearly as bad of a bet, but I still worry about Tiger reinjuring himself seriously and then quitting the game.

I don't point out writing errors (yours aren't just grammar) for anyone else - just you. Because you're the worst kind of troll on this board and especially the CE board and you at least need to be made fun of for that occupation on occasion.

Anyway, that would be the dumbest bet ever to bet on a guy who is (or was) many strokes back, straight up, vs. the field. Maybe if you give me 20:1 odds I'll think about it. Even at his current 1 stroke back it's a dumb bet straight up vs. the field, especially when someone in front of him is likely to also go low today.

Tied for fourth, 8 under par at the Memorial. He's winning this week. You bet against Tiger Woods. Stupid.

Tired of arguing with Cali - let's get back to golf. Tiger at -10, Rory with a 64 to get to -8, Phil at -7. Cool to see these guys playing well, but odds are that someone at -8 or better that hasn't teed off shoots at least 6 under to get to at least -14.

From here? He's one behind. And it appears that we've got some wind. I think the lead won't be better than -15. He'll have a shot tomorrow.

Tiger was co-leader at -10 (and just missed a 4 footer for birdie), for a nanosecond as Niemann made bogey (Rose, Kim and Stanley also at -10), but then Cantlay hit an ace to get to -11 (they haven't showed it yet - that bugs me about Tigermania). Going to be a fun rest of the day and tomorrow.

Tiger bogeys 2 of the last 3 on 3-putts to finish at -9. Disappointing finish. As Jack just said, he still needs to relearn how to win. He's been the best in the field tee to green, but the putter has failed him - could easily be at -15 just on the short putts missed the past 2 days. But he's not. It'll come. Niemann with an impressive 35 footer for eagle on 7 to move to -13 - would be an incredible win in his 6th pro start at age 19.
